1. Peavey Combo 300 (1x15) for me. Seem to remember it had a Bi-amp facility built in. Sold it and bought a 4x10 Trace combo. Couldn't lift that bugger either, and I was young then!!
2. Here's the last rock set I did over here (a year ago) The boys are back in town Don’t believe a word Jailbreak Whiskey in the jar Shoot to thrill Highway to hell You shook me all night long You could be mine Paradise city Sweet child of mine Smoking in the boy’s room Hush Sharp dressed man Born to be wild Black night Lights out in London You really got me Rock and roll The hunter Dead or alive Comfortably numb Pretty vacant Word up Doctor doctor Rockin in the free world
3. Just bought a Yamaha guitar combo from Pete. Great deal made even better by his kind offer to deliver as I was staying en route to his next destination. Really nice guy to deal with. Most helpful. Real shame that nightmare parking restrictions made it impossible to have a chat and a cuppa with him. Thanks Pete, looking forward to using the amp when I get back to France.
4. The man for me, the man was always Manitas de Plata. Got turned on to his playing in the late 60's. Fabulous musician but was sometimes unconventional in his approach to traditional Flamenco. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZxkrNGfbAA
5. If it's any help, I used my Genz Shuttle 6.0 combo last week for an acoustic guitar number and our guitarist assumed I was using the AER that was parked next to me. It sounded great. Also sounds really nice with my Strat in a sort of clean compressed way.
6. You could pick up a secondhand Korg M1 for about £150. They were seriously pro and expensive kit (many years ago) ultra reliable and great on board sounds. Expandable with extra cards if you need to but unlikely if you just need good pianos and a couple of organ patches. You may also find (very cheap, about £100) the M1R rack version. You can then just buy a cheap midi universal keyboard like an evolution for about £50. Failing this, look for a Roland JV1010 module (over 1000 patches and fabulous organs and pianos) About £100 + a cheap midi keyboard.
7. I can hear them in France, but then I've got the radio on
8. Any basses by builders who were primarily exotic guitar manufacturers but thought they naturally had the ability to build an equally nice looking bass. The culprits being Ovation, PRS, Gordon Smith, Parker and Patrick Eggle. They ALL look like sh*t. I've no idea what they sound like and don't want to find out.
9. Whilst it's not a Yamaha, my main bass also cost the same. The expensive stuff just hangs on the wall now. Must be something about £80 being the magic price
10.
the singer is doing a fringe show so can't rehearse til September, so only 1 month. I can't do 2 rehearsals, I have 3 other bands, gigs, a full time job plus a life. Parts are written but flexible. The singer hasn't written everything yet so structures are still to be finished, as are brass parts.
That's all sorted then, book your studio for next February
11.
I like my B2. I'm pleased to see that there seems to be a fair amount of Zoom B2 love out there.
Personally I hate them but they just happen to be the correct height to go under a wobbly dining table leg.
12.
Form an orderly queue...ha... Gaf's pretty much got this one stitched up. Sold pending payment. Given the interest, guess I should have asked for more money! Lol Pete
Err, I've just heard that Gaf's had an accident at 10.00am tomorrow so he won't need the pedal afterall (damn, need to think straight)
13. If Gaf disappears in mysterious circumstances does TWILITEZONE still get next dibs? Just so as I know (Arrangements to make, people to see etc)
14. Here's the setlist from my trio from last year. I sang the lot except Pretty vacant, Tush and Tulsa time. They all work for a trio. Obviously it depends on your guitarist to a point and I guess some of it will be unsuitable for a wedding but it all used to go down a storm here. Best of luck. 15. Assuming I've got correct info from my mate in Holland, this might be the band from a guy called Eddie Conard. Apparently he's a percussionist and programmer by trade. The three bassplayers he's worked with over the years are. Jan Hollestelle Evert Verhees Fons Symons Hope this helps the investigation.

17. Just taken delivery of a Shuttle 6.0 combo + ext cab. Alan is easy to deal with and most helpfull. Didn't feel the need to quibble about the price as it was advertised at what I considered to be a very fair price. Item as described and even possibly a bit better than description. Super smooth deal. Buy / sell with confidence. Top BC'er
18.
Looks like an alembic
Looks like an Epic but I can't get my head around the controls being on the wrong side (above as opposed to below if turned around )
19. Love is the drug. Roxy music We gotta get outa this place Animals How long Ace
20. It must all be down to the individual instrument so try it. I bought a KSD 5 with 35" scale and had only played 34" up until then. Sold it a week later. Hated it. First fret felt like a mile away. I then bought a Spector Euro LX6 with 35" scale and loved it to bits. Eminently playable. So I guess it depends on the instrument.
21.
Very nice.
Yes they were both great. Both ultimate rock machines.Yet another "in hindsight" regret as I don't have either any more. The Baretta also had the Dennis Klein "Eye" graphics. There's a SS Hamer floating about on US Ebay for £1,000. Quite rare these days but a great guitar and investment. I did also have an early 85 Hockey stick Baretta with the infamous luthier headstock joint. It was in perfect condition when I sold it but arrived at the buyer's address in two pieces Still we got it repaired and he's still using it 4 years later.
22. Had two guitars with genuine USA Floyds and both were totally trouble free. A Hamer Steve Stevens and an 86 Baretta. I could pick up the Kramer after a 6 week lay off and it would be in perfect tune. The other Floyd type I had (a Schaller) wasn't that precise and constantly needed fine tuning after a bit of abuse. Most of the problems I came across with friends who owned them was them changing string gauges. Floyds are usually factory set up for 9-42s and the change to say, 10s requires a set up re balance tension etc. If I was buying another guitar with a Floyd, it would have to be an original jobby. I love em. (Had a Vai Universe many years ago and to be honest that wasn't bad at all)
23. Had one of these for quite a while and gave it some serious stick. It's perfect for small to medium gigs. Great sound and lots of combo for the price. Especially this price. Buy with confidence. Josh is a great guy to deal with.
