  1. I think it's a great album too but good God - the mastering!!
  2. It would be awfully nice of you to put up some soundclips. I take it the blue square in the picture below is the trim pot?
  3. Any Spector experts out there? I remember having a nice Euro 4LX but sold it because I just couldn't get on with the TonePump pre! I never knew where the 'flat' setting was so my tone was always too boomy or just not able to cut through. Is there a secret to getting the most out of this pre? I know there are some that rave about it!
  4. I like how everyone said Yamaha but you went the other way still. 😂
  5. Those new Sandberg California SL basses - the body uses paulownia. Isn't that wood known to have strength issues and is quite susceptible to breaks?
  6. Does anyone have experience of Tuffnells?
  7. Decided to return it for a full refund. Why settle for something if you're not completely happy with it?
  8. Always been intrigued by fan frets. Is it a gimmick or do they genuinely help with your playing?
  9. Just to clarify - This was bought from a shop, brand new, sent straight from the Music Man factory and checked over once it reached the UK. I am the first person to play this bass bar the guys testing it to make sure it works. I have tried different amps, leads, plug sockets, kettle leads, rooms and it still has the buzzing. I have a passive Jazz which never buzzes so I know it's the bass. I have contacted the shop asking if they cannot sort the issue then I will be returning for a refund.
  10. I need some advice from the BC congregation. I purchased a brand new bass that arrived yesterday and everything seemed peachy. Plugged it in and had the dreaded buzz from lack of shielding with also popping when touching the strings. Now this isn't a cheap bass - it is a Music Man Cutlass, the passive P style. Do I keep the bass and try to shield it myself or return it stating it isn't properly shielded and really should be for a bass of that amount. Thanks in advance.
  11. Bloody hell mate, you need a security guard for losing that much stuff.
  12. Let's mix it up and play something more modern - especially suited to death via tiger.
  13. Whenever I see an early 50s P, I can think of one thing only; Sting!
  14. What about the ultimate metal head's stage clobber? Camo shorts, DMs and a shaved head?
  15. Fronting Coldplay and doing the catering - what a guy!
  16. I've always thought of this song has one of the best from that era:
  17. To be fair, I've always thought this was one of Mr King's best solo spots... though my favourite bit is when the band misses their cue to come in for the next song!
