1. Duck Dunn created a mongrel some years ago simply by fitting a Fender Jazz neck to a Precision body. I've seen quite a few 'mix and match' ones over the years and indeed played the opposite version myself - Jazz body, Precision neck (both 1962s). As WoT was alluding, we'll never know what custom orders escaped via the 'side door' in the early days. If you really want that look, people like Allparts can supply the bits to create your custom bass a bit cheaper than a Lakland.
2. Schaller BMLs are also nickel - were you particularly interested in a set that would include a D-tuner or just the straight set?
3. Nickel plated HB3s - sounds like you need the HB1s (smaller backplate). I do have some Schaller BMLs which look to be that size if you would be interested.
4. Edited to include 5-string bridge and black machine heads.
5.
Anyway, it's a fretless ...
Fretless, headless, bodyless,..... brainless.
6. Badass now gone unfortunately Chris. Pre-CBS type bridge is recommended (and keeps it light!). Hipshots available but bear in mind they usually only fit 3 out of 4 of the existing holes compared to Fender/Schallers.
7.
Hiya mate Wanna swap any of the above for their equivalent in gold (gold parts from my '81 Special that is, not gold per se)? C
Just trying to sell at the moment - anything in particular you would like? (I do have other spares). H.

9.
How on earth has she learned to sing and play such complicated timing on both bass and vocals with such control?
She's female and accordingly can multi-task.
10. Hey Paul, as you know we're not far from each other - I've got a pair of USA Standards you're welcome to try - no obligation!
11.
Nice playing Doc, you pinned that choon to the wall. The tone of the guitar, bass and brass all sounded authentic too. Your guitarist had a shaky start though timing wise, didn't he?
I think the perception of the guitarist's timing may be down to the inevitable delay in listening to the choon in New Zealand.
12.
I love the bassist > drummer moment at about 1:15.
Well spotted Mr. S. You'll find that I am mouthing the words 'Soul Man' at that point. Being a simple drummist, he often needs reminding which number we are playing even when it's well under way.
13.
A very pro band, and it was great to see a mixture of all ages involved in one band.
Thanks for that. Guitar and bass - early 60s, sax and drums - mid twenties. Nice that it still works without any ageism.
14.
Only popped in for an hour but I was very impressed. The metro took longer than expected though so I missed some I would have come to look at that lovely Fender but drool may have ruined the electrics.
No worries, the place was full after all. Anytime you want to see the Fender close up, give me a call.
15. OK, here's one I've actually got a genuine order for in the last couple of days. Jaguar outline body, ebony dot neck - Jazz profile, standard Jazz pickup configuation (EMGs), standard Jazz control plate (carrying J-retro circuit), parchment pickguard taking up the shape of a Jazzmaster after the controlplate (no switches). Candy apple red with matching headstock. Badass bridge.
16. It's free!!!! And a jolly good pub - real ales an' all. On about 9.15pm.
17. Just a little bumpity nudge for anyone with nowt else better to do on Friday night. I hate to think of Wateroftyne, solo, by his own, on himself, a single audient emitting a round of applaud.
18. Just discovered a Rickenbacker damper unit in my spares draw. It's very old and the rubber strip is starting to disintegrate somewhat. Also only one of the turning screws with spring is present. PM if interested.
19. Meters read low so 8 ohms it will be.
20.
No one noticed except my drummer who was showered with the contents of my percussion box ..
I'm assuming this then sounded like a particularly busy drum break and trust it was in time to the music.
21. It's just possible the old-v-new has resulted in an 'out of phase' situation if the resultant series switching is thin and noisy. Probably best to go back to a matched pair from the same era - I just happen to have a pair of USA Js from circa 2007 available if you're interested.
22. Thang yow. And it's goodnight from him.
23. My dear WH. It's OK that you left it at home - I heard from a mutual friend that your wife appreciated it not transmitting noises to the neighbours during certain activities.
