Thank you for your recent order. Unfortunately the item you have ordered has already been sold out and we were not able to process your order. No funds have been taken on this occasion, the pre-authorisation on your card will clear shortly.
Oh terrific. Spiffing. Bang goes the one little bit of enjoyment I was looking forward to over the holiday. F***ing marvellous. Thanks a bunch Thomann.

    Typically someone isn't happy https://medium.com/@spencerlee/this-story-could-be-told-in-a-much-more-concise-way-that-leaves-the-band-looking-much-less-like-a-ce267daf11b7

His diatribe response seems to be based more on his dislike of the band and their music than anything else.

That's a good point, I really think some guys don't know and it goes beyond T-Shirts. A guy might think I'll grow a beard or a mustache and for some guys that can grow decent beards ( I have almost no facial hair ) and it will look great. But beards and mustaches don't look great on everyone. You would think that guy would have a wife, girlfriend that would say, "lose the beard".

I have a beard. A couple of years ago, my son grew a similar beard. It looks about a million trillion times better on him than mine does on me.
I also have a hat. A couple of years ago, my daughter borrowed it. Guess what? :(

I have come to the conclusion that looking like a sack of sh*t tied up in the middle is, for me, not so much a failing as a c'est la vie.

  4. There's a masterpiece of advertising all over the various media this morning too. I refer of course to the 'news' that Tetley have insured the tastebuds of one of their blenders. It was all over the BBC radio news this morning, on the hour and half-hour, and is in several newspapers and their websites, not to mention Huffpost. And you can bet your bottom that the insurance premium was a microscopic fraction of the cost of taking out adverts in all those publications. Not to mention of course the completely free advertising on the non-commercial BBC. Tetley must be laughing their heads off. It's a stroke of genius.

Unfortunately, some people will always look like they've just been pulled through a hedge backwards regardless of whether they're wearing jeans or a Saville Row suit. :)
This.
I tend to stick to jeans & tees for a very good reason -- I just look ridiculous in anything smarter. Remember how good Daniel Craig looked in that tuxedo in Casino Royale? If I wore that suit, or more accurately one my size from the same tailor, I'd just look like a sad fat bastid trying to look good and failing miserably.
My band does have a dress code, but it's fairly relaxed in a "wear anything you want as long as it's red & black" way rather than stipulating a precise item of clothing. So it's black jeans and a red shirt/tee/polo for me.

Is your drummer too loud? Maybe the guitarist is making a stand...
Given that the OP's "300watt bass amp is only ever at number 1", I get the feeling that excessive drummer volume isn't the problem.

  7. My guitard has spent an absolute fortune on lighting stuff, he's got the bug big-time so it's all cutting edge stuff. He tried explaining it to me once and I got hopelessly lost :) now when he's not gigging with us he's out doing lighting for other bands. By contrast, he hasn't bought any new guitar gear for about 20 years
