Help with choosing a bass distortion pedal
Mike Bungo replied to Mike Bungo's topic in General Discussion
Just found a MXR Distortion + on YouTube which sounds great for what I need ππ -
Hi. I play in a classic Punk band and I currently use an Ampeg pre amp which I love into a TC Electronic Nova Drive for Overdrive and the odd song with distortion. I'm wanting to get separate pedals so I'm going to get an Ampeg Scrambler for overdrive but need help with choosing a distortion pedal that's not gonna give me overkill and that's also not gonna break the bank. I've tried a Big Muff & Dark glass but they just seem to be too much......Thanks in advance

I use an Ampeg Classic Analog Bass Preamp Pedal which is great and a TC Electronic Nova Drive which has both overdrive and distortion and this also works well...... I will have a play with the 18" cab and see how it sounds

I play in a classic punk band as was looking for that "A bomb on Wardour street" tone...... It's not the end of the world if it doesn't work. I'm more bothered about popping the 100w speaker to be fair

Thanks ever so much for your help

8ohm - 200watt
-
Hi you lot I have a Aguilar TH500 that I run into 2 TC Electronic RS112's (200watt 8ohm) and it sounds well I've been given an 18" bass cab fitted with a 16ohm, 100watt speaker If I ran the TH500 into the 18" cab and also 1 RS112 (Parallel) what would be the outcome? Am I going to be running the volume on the amp higher to get less volume output at the speakers and would the 100w speaker be in danger of being blown? Thanks in advance π

Hi I've had and own Fenders, Ricky's and Hofners ect and in July went watching Generation Sex at The Apollo in Manchester and was blown away and curious about what their bass player was playing My post is below (Plus 2 pic's) and you will see the reactions from folk............ Mine was Β£129 plus a few mods but I'm still gigging it because its light, plays bang on and if it gets nicked or damaged then it's not the end of the world! Mines nicknamed "Ronnie" for obvious reasons

Hi all I have a bass that is a PJ layout and each pick up has it's own volume and tone adjustment I've ordered a new custom wiring kit (James home of tone) for the controls ect and I'm just about to add new Seymour Duncan quarter pounders to both the neck and bridge positions Once I've fitted this lot I'm after a little help to guide me in the right direction to adjust the pick up heights to an optimum height I know that many people will have different views but please let me have your thoughts on this subject Thanks in advance Mike
