Couldn't an EQ pedal with true bypass do the same job?
2. Cool, thanks man. Would you say it's better to get an M9 or a fully-fledged box- I was thinking a Zoom B9.1ut?
3. Am I the only one who really liked LoMenzo? No, he wasn't the orginal, but he never tried to be. He had lovely tone as well.
4. Hmmm, a problem is that Stomp covers so much- you can't have, say an auto-wah and a drive, which always bugged me. With the X3, can you string any effects you want together in any order? I did like the XT, but I swapped it for a proper rig. Another gripe with the XT was that the expression pedal could only do wah or volume, but that might have been the foot controller I had. *strokes imaginary beard*
5. Sorry for double post, I'm on my phone, Luke- can they be any three effects?
6. Which would do me better, the M9 or the X3 Live? All the pitch stuff looks fun, can you get that on the X3? How do the two units compare?
7. It doesn't have the same kind of foot control, or the ability to string effects together in any order- if I was getting a POD, I'd get the X3 Live.
8. Looking at your replies, I guess what I really want to know is how good is the M9? I was thinking of some singles as well (Bass Big Muff and VT Bass....mmmmm) , as I've heard the drives on the M9 are a bit weak, but will they tide me over till I can raise money for the singles? And I use loads of effects when given the chance, but right now I don't have the opportunity. I guess I should say that I used to have a Bass PODXT, but I sold it, to my eternal regret. Some more questions: How much does the expression pedal add, and are the effects with it good? How good is it with bass- it is generally considered to be a guitar unit, right? Thanks
9. So I have a Bad Monkey, an Ibanez synth pedal and a Behringer rack compressor, which at the moment just aren't doing it for me. How good are the essentials (I guess for me, compression, EQ and drive) on the M9? Are they worth it?
10. I'm in the Line6 camp, I had the Bass PODXT and it was wonderful. I sold it to get a proper amp, I wish I hadn't now!
11. What is this madness?

People tend to do different gain stages with the programmable ones, which tends to go one clean, one mild OD and one really dirty OD. These are also the people with 7 other gain pedals though... You can get a pretty filthy drive from them, but for actual distortion/fuzz I'd get a distortion/fuzz. Some blendable fuzzes just sound like ODs though- watch out for that.
13. Pics?
14. Are your cables all right?
15. To me it makes sense to have the common ones as stompboxes (better, more adjustable sound) and the less common on a small multi- an M9 or something. That way you can also get any sound you want as well.
16. Are the boxes that take a standard jack plug any good?
17.
I would like to suggest you a different kind of device. Something a little bit more "lateral". On my pedalboard I have a pedal that I called "The Box".
Is that the m:system on your site? Looks useful, how much do they go for?
18. Can it use a power supply?
19. Ah, I'm trading it for Anthony's Kramer anyways.
20. That's probably your best bet for that budget. For a bit more there's the MXR Bass Blowtorch: http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/m-181-...low-torch/69363 which is highly commended.
21. My Ibanez with Warwick Blacks gets used for a rock-ish covers band (Chilis and Muse) and a metal/dancecore band, it's all good. I use my EQ lots. I guess I might get a P in the future for some stuff, but I'm happy with my beautiful Ibby at the moment.
22. I'm in two bands at the moment. 1- A metal/dancecore band that is lovely. I play bass, and I essentially have complete freedom so long as it fits the song. The keyboardist and guitarist are always perfectionist about each other's parts, but I often ask "is this alright?" instead of being told/asked to change it. They always say "yeah, fine, whatever" though. XD The way we write is that the keyboardist or guitarist will have a riff and the rest of us will put stuff around it, I normally follow the guitars with harmonies. 2- A punk/ska/grind/blues/metal band, where I play guitar and sing. I tend to write everything, as the drummer doesn't have many ideas and the bassist has just started playing.
23. So I just broke a string on my guitar. I simply cannot be arsed with this bloody tremolo, so here is a chance to get yourself a lovely guitar. It is amazing if you have the patience, but for me it's too much hassle. It has a licensed Floyd Rose, a locking nut, 24 frets, a Wizard neck and stock Ibanez pups (which sound great ). I will sell it in a gigbag with a free strap. It has a pickholder on the back of the headstock that can be removed if you want. I will trade for any decent fixed-bridge guitar, a 7 would be nice, but I don't mind that much. PM me with offers. Thanks,
