My main Stick is bamboo - many layers glued together, stays in tune forever, one of the more popular Stick choices. The hardwoods all look cool for all the reasons one would select them, but the substantial debate concerning effect on tone, including Emmett Chapman's, is that the material has none - it's the pickup choice. And that has a HUGE effect. I have to add for anyone unfamiliar w/ the Stick, it's one long neck, no body, all electronics are in the pickup housing. I also have a Danelectro Longhorn bass (Masonite), and you know what they sound like...

As far as threads progress I'm wearing cotton for so long they're wearing out. I guess from washing?

If I pick one, I may fret about it later with my fingers. Anyhow, I'm not slow. I'm not fast. I'm half-fast...

Let's see that new bass! No five strings here, (when I had one it was specificly ordered "high C"), and I would drop to D on the E string. I tune my basses any way I want, I like looser strings, since my main axe is a Chapman Stick, and that goes to A. I have four basses, and I can't tell you if ANY of them are tuned EADG right now...Personally I can't see the point in playing bass and not experimenting. (Uh, oh, someone's typing...)

So I'm a Yank and I can go 5 miles to an open Guitar Center. Sucks, doesn't it? I can go try out an amp They also short-changed me for a trade on a Pedulla 5-string for a JBLEON 515 that I hate to this day. I now have two EONS because I thought it would sound good w/ the Stick. But. etc.,etc.,etc., . Just being a jerk...wah wah wah ignore me please

Really going out here but I trust you guys. Q: is how to go about making garbage out of mistakes- having a pair of JBLEON515s that SUCK for the "idea" of a stereo amp configuration w/ a PODX3 front end for a (anything) Chapman SticLk/bass rig. Have a 31 band stereo eq that doesn't "fix it " and have a Greenboy builder close by (100mi.s) but am interested would Eminence speakers (15") make the EONS BETTER? Like, without blowing them (the EONS) apart? Greenboy builds use a $350US speaker so I know it works but, my Q: is, is a 500w amp loudspeaker w/ a crossover tweeter - salvagable, without me going down the dirt wormhole again I ONLY WANT TO MAKE IT SOUND GOOD
