1. Hi jimbobothy I'm based in Manchester.
2. Pretty sure it's 18mm.
3. Cheers...should actually read "151p."...but I'm sure most people will get it....
4. Hi I'm selling a Markbass Traveler 151P 8ohm extension cab,in excellent cosmetic condition. It's the older-style cab and it sounds great-I'm only letting it go as my combo is pretty much all I need for gigs at the moment. Cheers! ****final price drop £240****
5. Hi, Up for sale is my Status Series One five string bass, with red front and side Sims led's (serial number 1167 which I believe dates the bass at 1991) and Status-supplied full flight case. The spec from the original blurb is rock maple body, through body woven graphite neck (with red tint) Status jazz pickups and the stacked bass/treble,pickup blend and master volume controls.Basically, it sounds and plays fantastic. There are a couple of minor dings to the body (one on the lower side and one under the "shoulder area") -but that apart it's in pretty much great nick for it's age...my woeful pictures don't really do it any justice. I've owned quite a few Statii (?) over the years, and I have to admit that I've never seen another one like this before...it's a bit of a rarity.I bought it off a mate who'd had it in his studio for for years, and the only reason I'm selling is because I'm playing very little music that really needs a five string at the moment. I'm based in the Manchester area if anyone wants to try it. *****Now Sold**** Steve.
6. Hs this found a new home by any chance?
7.
Can't get my head round status, seems a lot of money for a plastic neck! Ok I'm sure there's more to it but when I read from various posts that the neck heel is hollow!
Sorry fella but you've obviously never played one.The construction on every one I've ever owned has been totally faultless, the "plastic neck" is a joy to play,is even with no dead spots, and will stay rock-solidly in tune in the most demanding of gig temperatures.Undeniably superbly made instruments, whether you like their "styling" or not.
8. Fender certainly got "something" right. As for the statement that you "you can't beat a Fender" I'm not sure I'd agree there...some of the horriblist, overpriced planks I've ever played have been US Fenders (at least the ones I used to have to sell were lol).. It's horses for courses...I've got a jazz bass (at least it looks like a jazz...) that i use on the sort of gigs where you HAVE to "play a Fender"...it has a US Fender body and pickups, and the rest of the bits on it are made by other manufacturers who to put it bluntly-make far better stuff (in my opinion,of course....:-) There's no doubt Fender's work, but they're ...well....a bit ...."dull..."...When i see someone playing one at a gig it reminds me a bit like watching a football match on holiday abroad-and the bloke sat in front turning round and telling you he supports man utd....:-) Give me a Status S2 any day...(dons tin hat...:-)
9. Picked up a Markbass Traveler 15 cab from Dunc.A Top man.Buy with confidence.
10.
That does nothing for me at all! Funny how we are all so different, if I made a list of everything I would not want in a bass it would look exactly like a king bass
That's the exact reason why I have a Status cunningly disguised to the naked eye as a "Fender jazz bass"..looks "conventional" so as to not upset the more delicate of players I gig with that furrow their brow in disapproval at a bassist daring to whip out anything vaguely "un-Fender" ....but sounds and handles like a Status!Best of both worlds...:-) Ive had both the Mk 1 Standard and Artist KB-IMO they are sonically versatile and visually stunning, but due to the tiny body shape they just don't work for me....in fact,my old Aqua blue Artist was the very one that Marcus sold!Anyone who thinks they are just for bedroom MK stylers playing "Love games" is wrong (though personally I don't see any problem with that if thats yer thing...you pays yer money!)...and the build quality,as with all Status basses,is the best there is IMO. You'll get "the one" Marcus, mate.I say enjoy finding it in the meantime-while you still can lol....wish I still could!
11. Pmd again bud...:-)
12. Ha ha...the old "I hate slap bass at music shows" thread.Only the date ever changes. Forgive me for saying it-but aren't "trade shows" entirely designed to attract players to check out the manufacturer's wares close up,and get their hands on the gear at close quarters?Does it really matter if the guy plays a dodgy version of "Love games" on a coffee-table bass-if he's ultimately helping to keep the retailer and distributor in business-and thus allow future shows to commercialy viable? Obviously the volume aspect needs addressing- but it seems that some peeps would rather use it as an excuse to moan about a playing style they don't and a "stereotype" punter rather than look at any positives!
13. Friday BUMP!
14. Hi mate.. I've got a lovely white Fender/Squier Jazz bass (Squier Classic Vibe body with Fender USA Highway one neck, controls and bridge) with Fender gigbag for sale on here. Are you intereted in a p/x with a bit of cash your way? Cheers!
15. Absolute bargain at the price.Unless you're doing big venues this is the lightest, most powerful amp you're going to find if you like a "clean" sound.I've had the lot over the years and this is the best pound for pound amp I've ever had for general gigging use....been 100% reliable, too. Have a bump on me....;-)
16. Hi guys, Got a virtually mint Bass Pod XT live (the floor unit) with PSU,manual and Line 6 gigbag for sale,£110 (and I'll even go halves on UK postage....wot a bargain!!!) Pics on request Cheers, Steve
17. Warwick.....nasty,super-hard-on-the fingers necks. With one notable exception (a 90s Streamer, owned by a certain well known trade show aficionado :-) ...absolutely horrible. Ricks....amplified drainpipes. Fender Precision...toneless,characterless planks. The Trabant of bass. Rant over.
18. Hmmm....had two KB's sold 'em and went on to regret it later!Third time lucky I wonder....
19. Hi guys. I'm putting out a feeler for selling my CMD102 2x10 Markbass combo...pretty sure most know the score on this amp. Great nick, weighs nowt, loud as hell...but I'm doing very little in the way of gigging at the mo and can't really justify having it sat about not earning it's keep. I'm looking for around £725 as the amp is pretty much mint and has only been gigged about 5 times. Pics if you need them. I'm in the Manchester area. Ta!
