Hey there, a friend of mine is raising money for his short film via kickstarter. I'm going to be helping him recording the foley for the film so I'm giving him a hand raising money. The kickstarter can be found here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/jamescbarr/star-man-2013-short-film-0?ref=live The rewards range from £1 to get your name in the credits, up to £100 for a big pack of stuff. For £25 you can get a sweet tie dye shirt made by the crew and for £50 there is a mini synthesiser that may interest some people here. It has a volume pot and an LDR to control the pitch of the oscillator. There's a video demo on the kickstarter page so check that out if it interests you. We really appreciate all the help we've been given so far and it'd be awesome if some of you could help us get over our target. Thanks! Mike

Big pedal sale - Check first post. Updated 22/4/13
badgerific replied to badgerific's topic in Effects For Sale
Bump - I should mention since I've been asked a few times lately that I can still build one knob fuzzes like the ones on the first page of this thread but they'll have to be £50 because I'm not sharing the postage cost of the parts over 10 pedals this time. So feel free to PM me if you're interested in that. -

I have this V2 Epiphone valve junior that has been modded by the previous owner and me as well. The mods are: - New output transformer with 4, 8 and 16ohm outs. - Tone control - Gain toggle switch (makes it a little twangier as well) - Triode/pentode switch - Standby switch - Line-out (I think the jack on the back is a line out, I've never used it though so not 100%) With the extra options it has way more tones than the stock EVJ and sounds really good I think, if I didn't have an amp which is bigger and a little more suited to my tastes that I use all the time I'd been keeping hold of it. The amp isn't in perfect cosmetic condition as you can see in the pictures so I'm not looking for a great deal for it so ideally I'd like £50 + postage for it. http://tinypic.com/r/iz9sm0/6 http://tinypic.com/r/2daered/6 http://tinypic.com/r/2hn2ydg/6 http://tinypic.com/r/2m2t0k6/6

If you fancy sending me your microsynth to have a look at I'll do the mods for cost price if they're possible and if they're not I'll post it back for free (if you're in the UK). It'll have to wait a few weeks though because I'm busy with quite a few builds for various people at the moment. Drop me a PM if you're interested.

Built a pedal up for John and he was a lovely guy to deal with and was patient when I had problems with a parts supplier. Definitely recommend

If there's room for adding an extra jack into the case I think I can probably mod the XO to have an expression jack but I wouldn't be able to say for sure without opening one up and having a look.

Vintage EHX are definitely inconsistent from my experience but some of them are still super cool. Also the vintage memory man (not deluxe) I had didn't use a compander IC in it so was really noisy so a modern analog delay pedal would of been a much better choice. It's basically a case of trial and error, especially with EHX stuff. I think part of the reason there's currently a lot of boutique builders doing well with vintage style effects is because they've realised what you have to do to consistently get the "good" sounding pedals. IE transistor matching, proper biasing etc.

Woolly mammoth clone VS Devi Ever Soda Meiser
badgerific replied to Charles G Mosse's topic in Effects
Woolly mammoth for gated fuzz or more of a classic fuzz sound with a little more control. SM for a more over the top fuzz sound but with less of a range of sounds. I'd go for the Devi Ever myself but they're both awesome -
I was planning on doing it to fit 1590a like the one in the talkbass link but it doesn't seem like many people would be that interested so I'll just vero one up for me

Would anyone be interested in a stingray pre-amp in pedal form because I was considering getting some PCBs fabricated for it and putting some together but wasn't sure if anyone would actually want them. Do you think 2 or 3 band would be the best way to go if you was interested in having one?

Easy mistake to make For the octaver you should check out the madbean lowrider, I've heard lots of good things about the pearl octaver it's based on. This seems like an awesome project though, you should post some pictures when you get it started
