Just fitted my badass bridge I bought from Tom, and he was a great guy to have dealings with. Deal with confidence.

Hey up for sale is the BYOC orange distortion pedal I recently made, it's a clone of the DS-1 pedal by boss. This pedal is far superior to the current boss model though due to it being built using the same chip as the 80's DS-1 pedals but the addition of the pre gain knob and the mods I have added, which make it more versatile and more useable IMO. The mods I added were to first change the clipping diodes from the stock ones to LED's to provide a "marshall crunch" sort of sound. I also changed a resistor to increase the amount of gain available, then I changed the value of a capacitor to cut some of the shrill highs from the sound. Next I swapped two capacitors around to provide a fuller mid range, this makes the pedal sound more full and will allow it to cut through a mix better than the stock model. Finally I modded the transistor gain stage to be the same as a big muff to produce a fuller bass response. This pedal is also true bypass. I have made some sound clips using my cheap ibanez copy guitar through a stock DS-1 and my clone through my cube 30 bass amp recorded direct into protools. It's not a great quality but it shows the differences between the pedals quite clearly. Follow this link here to hear them: http://profile.ultimate-guitar.com/badgerific/ Some pictures here: The colour is darker in the reals, the light on my mac camera makes it appear lighter than it is. Looking for £75 posted for it.
just noticed the demijon, good man. What you got on the go?
Just some red grape wine, should be ready to drink now I'm just too lazy to bottle it. I've only made wine from pineapple juice so far which was pretty gross. I want to give beer brewing a go sometime because beer is generally tastier than wine to me. On topic: My orange distortion kit came today got some nice jade green spray paint for it, should be done tomorrow so I shall post some pics.

I believe increasing the value of the input and output caps will increase the low end. I might be wrong though, I'm still a noob at this stuff.

I use a scalpel, I stick the tip in the hole and turn it so I scrape a circle of copper away. It doesn't seem to work when i try to just cut it and scrape it away.

Selling my valvecaster pedal with orange/white/yellow swirl finnish. This pedal warms your signal a bit and gives a very light drive sound to it. Looking for £65 posted Some pics: http://i25.tinypic.com/2v2tgsj.jpg http://i26.tinypic.com/313nj10.jpg Anyone who's interested should drop me a PM or post here.
ahh just double checked layout is fine, try running it on 12v if thats still not great i'll give you a few recomendations to improve the circuit, grid bias is a bit lame.
Yeah I just read that it'd run better at 12V on the diystompboxes forum so I'm going to try it over a friends house with his power supply and if it's still not working I'll post some shots of the wiring. EDIT: Ran it on 12V and works how it's supposed to, lovely. Not a great volume boost but warms the sound up a bit and adds a bit of OD. I think my next build is gonna be a BYOC fuzz face. EDIT 2: Bought myself a BYOC orange distortion kit, looks fun with all the extra mods.
No worries, it's super simple to do too -- next build, just pop one on the DC input jack like I have below. Sorted!
So thats cathode (stripe end) on the lug which goes to the board and the anode to the ground lug? Silly post man, didn't come till late today so I have to bike some miles to pick up my stuff to build a valvecaster (from beavis audio) tomorrow, looking forward to building it though. Anyone tried this circuit? The fuzz factory I built last week is for sale in the effects selling forum if anyone is interested.

Just finished making this pedal and it's working great, does all the crazy oscillating that the original does as well as the glitchy noises and warmer fuzz tones. Hand painted with a swirl finnish. Looking for £70 posted.
