  1. I like this version! That said, it does kind of prove Nick Mason's point that "a band is drums and bass and assorted novelty instruments."
  2. Thanks for sharing this! I just built an Amazon Music Unlimited HD playlist of all of The Slits and New Age Steppers albums. Most excellent!
  3. So there WAS something in the air.
  4. I like Scott, but he talks WAY too much. He's a master at turning a 5 minute lesson into 10 minutes. Mark at Talkingbass.com is very good (as previously mentioned). My current favorite, however, is the BassBuzz YouTube channel (also BassBuzz.com). Just a pleasure! Back to the woodshed!
  5. Great price! I just bought a Gator Transit bag (US$100) and really like it. The Pro Go was 50% more expensive, but I might very well have spent the extra if I'd seen this video first. Gator make great products.
  6. New artist to me. Much love!
  7. Very nice! Ripped from vinyl. A bit scratchy, like an Underslunky!
  8. Great idea! Kind of fell into it by accident earlier today. Figured it was finally time to give Mark Sandman a good listen, so I just queued up all of the Morphine albums into a playlist on Amazon Music HD. Really happy I did! Por ejemplo
  9. I just stopped by the local music store yesterday to hire an instructor to help me with my muting techniques, among other things. I was feeling pretty old at 68, until I was told that the student before me was just starting. At 81. I left feeling a bit younger. Time to fix the intonation on the A string on my SR.
  10. On Windows, I use dBpoweramp for batch conversions and CD ripping. https://www.dbpoweramp.com/
  11. Thank you for this thorough review. I was considering the 1505MS, but now I've got to think on it some more.
  12. For me, it's not about reinterpretation or any of that. If I'm going to pay a boatload of money to see a performance, then I want a high quality experience. I saw Elvis on his last tour. He couldn't finish a single song. Couldn't breathe. I'd seen a couple a super James Brown concerts, and let myself get really excited when he toured after prison. He couldn't sing worth doodly squat, either. Just stood at a keyboard most of the time. Then again, there was that 30th anniversary Return To Forever tour. That show was superb. Well worth the money. EDIT: OK, to Elvis credit, he did have his limo stop on the way to the Dane County Coliseum to break up a fight between a couple of punks at a gas station. And that's what made the news. Not his performance.
  13. My first Genesis show was Lamb Lies Down. I've seen them many times since. Up to a point. And that point was long ago. Je passe.
  14. Agreed! Big fan of Tina, then and now. Same group, less David Byrne.
  15. Black Sabbath and Paranoid were my first 2 8-tracks. Loved them both! Went to see the Paranoid tour in Madison, Wisconsin. [A lot of touring bands liked to open tours in Madison because the crowds were so supportive. This will be important in a minute.] The opening band came on over an hour late, and played for just over 30 minutes. It took Sabbath another hour and a half plus to make their appearance. And they played for less than 45 minutes. Walked off the stage. Lights went up. No encore. No nada. They were f'ing gone. The crowd started booing. Loudly. One of their roadies flipped us the finger. Someone in the front of the crowd managed to hit the bass drum square with a bottle. Must nasty name calling from the roadies. Big mistake. The stage got stormed and a lot of Sabbath's gear got trashed. They never came back to Madison. It was really hard to stay a fan after that.
  16. Not sure if I should post this or not, but I would really like your comments. To me, it's one thing to have respect for the music (and play it that way), but another thing entirely adopt a religion that you have no cultural connection to. This might be well-done, but strikes me as just another cultural appropriation.
  17. I use a Mud Stand with my Rumble 200 combo. Love it. https://www.mudstand.com/mud-stand-for-bass-amps/mud-stand-for-bass-amps
  18. Happy you found a copy. Wish I could read it! Two of my three dogs destroyed that issue before I had a chance to read it.
  19. Ah, nothing like real Lambsbread. The perfect ganja for reggae. Still have a few seeds. Maybe 20+ years old. They'd never germinate, but I keep them for memories' sake.
  20. Warriors of the night. Warriors of the light.
  21. Of course, the Caro Emerald video came from a playlist. Which also contained this gem! Gong-infused Ska. Love it!
  22. Gonna nick this one, as well! Thanks for sharing!
  23. Major Ozrics fan. Major props to you! Oh, and props on the thrashing of Italy Saturday in the Six Nations comp!
