I would guess that not spending very much would mean rather less than £600-700.
Paid £300 for mine used

Basses and Amplifcation group is OK. Founder member but didn't want to be a moderator / administrator cos I try to limit my Facebook involvement. Also trying to get away from being 'utilised' by Google.

That's a really interesting read. In its own way, this weird/hideous bass is a proper bit of UK music history, as is its original owner. It should be restored & stuck in an (unfortunately non-existent!) museum!
Indeed. With the sad passing of Mo Foster and others the informative and funny raconteurs and authors are getting fewer.
Quite like the bass but I've a touch of neuropathy so no dice with the weight....plus I'm left handed.

The Brothers have told us about how cold it is there. meanwhile we are still waiting for winter!!! We've had one decent snowfall but that didn't stick round for long. We didn't have to shovel any of it! Currently it's 9 Celsius here going up to 17C by mid week.
I had forgotten that the UK puts a water tank in the attic. I guess to allow gravity to move the water through the pipes. Over here the water is supplied under pressure so no holding tanks are required.
Keep us all informed about progress.
It was actually a mains pressure supply, as you can imagine it's considerable in order to reach above a 4th floor flat.

Ouch, that's a mess.
Thank you for your rational advice.
Positive grid have said if I send it over in its original packaging they'll replace the power amp for $60. Fair play as I bought unit 2nd hand.
A central london tech has said he could check inside safely power it up and put it through a few cycles for £80 in the event of success and not destruction. He's 20 minutes away on the bus
All the rest of my absurd collection of amps & cabs unscathed. Have i mentioned 13 basses ?. As I have no immediate neighbours at present and a bare living room I've been checking my gear out at fairly loud settings and all is well.
Laney Nexus tubes are looouud.

As I said before I'm truly sorry for your troubles. Your amp is a minor thing compared to the rest of your belongings. We're hoping that we would be unaffected by floods a we live basically at the top of a hill. Good luck.
Thanks. 75 feet here (ironically not safe in these circumstances) might be sufficient when the Thames Barrier is overtopped, presumably the pedal cabs will adopt a pedal gondola sort of arrangement . Unaffordable most likely.

Kinga Glyk last night . She's personally engaging and a virtuoso player but the music just seems a bit bloodless to me. Still she's only a youngster.

I live in a top (4th) floor flat. The mains water supply in the loft fractured.!!!!!!
Unit was away from falling water, carpet underneath was flooded before I managed to grab amplifier up. I suspect/hope that water only went into the bottom of the casing. I never leave any of my eqpt powered up. Am in contact with positive grid who are being quite helpful considering I bought it used on here & it's discontinued. I'd need to send it back to USA , I have the packaging. Still

So I had a little positive grid bias bass amp on my living room floor.
Grabbed it during the catastrophe and a very small amount of water drained so it wasn't full to the brim.
Is it worth taking to a tech for him to dry fully and safety check or is the thing simply a write off.... ????
Landlord will be paying either way, but the amp has a load of personal patches on it and I'd like to keep it.
Amazingly my basses synth and other amps cabs survived the deluge, including a CTM 30 & Laney Nexus Tube thank you hot covers . Flooding & giant capacitors would not have been fun.

He also has a Precision style thing that mentions the intentionally inflicted woodworm holes and that he went for a "burnt floorboard " vibe.
Sad to say I quite like the look of these😳😳
By comparison to "he who must be unmentioned" these are masterpieces

Was a lovely Carvin on here that was withdrawn a while ago. Have a trawl through Arnis left handed page and you'll eventually find something tempting.
Sure you could find an ACG that fits the bill.

It's the interior of a 1770s Italian violin, but it makes me think of a Viking longhouse ... can you imagine that as a glorious hall with a fire on the hearth?
All it needs is Grendel's arm to nail over the doorway.
Wouldn't look quite so pretty after a few years of soot from said hearth and the hole in the roof instead of a chimney.

I think we did the first couple of times, in much the same way as a whole pub cheers when someone drops a glass.
We kind of hoped they'd feel a bit self-conscious and STFU just a bit. But they didn't, and after 2 or 3 weeks of this we started dropping hints about ball gags and the like.
