Despite the size it's not a sub, it's a bass guitar speaker. Used as a sub performance won't be great. https://products.electrovoice.com/binary/18BX Engineering Data Sheet.pdf
Used for bass guitar it will work pretty well, although the midrange dispersion angle would be narrow.
Bass Guitar is what it'll be used for.
Vendor used it with an SWR 410 (not approved combination I guess) Plus one of their lovely amps.
In my case I'll try it out with a Trace Elliot 1818t, at least a match in speaker size. Plus any of my Amplifiers. Though my new Laney Nexus Tube will be 1st in line.

Just bought a nice wheeled reflex enclosure with one of these speakers.
Other than being old school heavy gear, any comment on these...?

Tone is like wine. some appreciate fine wine some are happy with plonk.
Resonant basses have more tone than non resonant basses, but that won't matter if all you want is thump, or a low rumble, or get your tone from a pedal board.
The irritating thing is when guys who aren't interested in, or can't hear, the finer points want to insist that they don't exist.
Equally not everyone aspires to Cork Sniffing / Hi Fi Buff standards of connoisseurship.
This in no way related to a Tone Wood debate ( that's something that Cherie Blair has to contend with afaic)

Interesting (ish) to wonder the %age of respondents here who've disavowed Tw****r.
How many'd also disavow Mr Musk.
Never had a t*er account BTW.

Who needs an fbt subwoofer when you've got Ampeg 2 x 15s.
Or a Trace 1818t.
Hope all well with you Mike.
GLWT Sales.
Will give you a shout shortly

Priceless classical guitar involved in baggage carousel disaster.

Saw that.
Ambitious price but find another and very nice.
I guess it's worth the equivalent price of other top grade matsumoku products

Mk5's, Mk6's and a 2 x 10 combo that looks like it might be an SMX 12 band eq. with dual compressor . I'll check.
Also have second hand spares for the earlier Trace amps, power modules,( inc bipolar bear), Transformers, preamps, speakers( inc some of the very heavy duty cast 15" speakers used in their premium cabs ) etc
Mike , I will also PM you regarding this and your other advert later today. Might phone you this afternoon if I can still locate your phone no
Your Audere and TE1818t are doing Sterling Service still.
Hope you are keeping well ?

The looks alone give it a market (see ersatz Vox).
The Laneys are both excellent
In the end a 200w bass amp doesn't NeeD to fit in a pocket. Why does it need to weigh less than an ultra light cabinet.
These ought to be strongly marketed in regions like Japan Germany USA.
Pity the previous Nexus range didn't set the world alight saleswise, la bam could testify about many more of them being excellent.

Pm'd in trepidation (if its still available).

Too Many
Trace Elliot Ah500x
Albion ABM800 (a fantastic monster of a thing - couldn't resist at £150)
Positive Grid Bias Bass 300.
Ashdown CTM30
Laney Nexus Tube (got ridiculously cheap in the Laney ebay sell off)
Hotone Thunder Bass
Plus two combos and too many cabs.

Dan Armstrong plexi/lucite replica.
It’s there or thereabouts and probably weighs the equivalent of an 8x10 on your shoulder, but it’s still a cool looking thing!
Quite fancy that, daft really.

This. I'm like this too, I have basses sitting in my rack that I never ever play but they would be incredibly hard to replace when seller's remorse hits. At the same time I have to admit that out of the 70+ guitars and basses I have owned there are only about three that I actually miss. And there have been a few instruments that I just wasn't ready for, and which I would appreciate a lot more now than I did when I owned them. One was a very high-end Human Base that was built for the now-gone German bass store "Mr.Bassman". They had two bass models based on regular production models, one being a Clover Slapper with some custom features and one being a Human Base Base-X neck-through with a rosewood top, Bartolini soapbars and 2-band electronics. They called it the Mr.Bassman "No Sweat" and I would love to have it back. It looked like this but lefty:
Love that Bass.
I do try to rotate and play EVERYTHING even my old cheapies some of which are surprisingly good.
However I've been sidetracked by an ASM Hydrasynth Explorer, an awesome little synth that makes me sound like I can play !
Also "had to" buy a clearance sale Laney nexus tube as I doubt we'll see their like again. Silly overkill for me, but GAS.

I was under the impression that running a 4ohm Valve Amp into 8ohms wasn't good for them at all

I just keep everything, nothing as high end as any of these.
As I'm left handed anything I've found is less easy to swap/replace.
