  1. haha oddly enough we downtune 1/2 a step for everything now - don't remember the last time i had a bass in standard tuning.. Singer is getting old and half a step saved his voice on some tracks
  2. mate if my warwick rockbass had sold i'd defo consider this - sadly i need that to go before i can even consider buying anything else (or the wife might kill me in my sleep - or awake - or just for fun) GL with sale - but if the rockbass goes before this does i'll be in touch
  3. narrower neck, more comfortable to play - do I really use the low B enough to need one or is it just a glorified (and oddly expensive) thumb rest i might keep my BB1025 just in case and after i sell the white rockbass thing i'm selling atm grab a 4 and see how i get on with it.. defo need to get an extender as the band i'm in atm do enjoy a drop D track and with the 5'er that's easy enough to navigate (except killing in the name of - which i still can't stretch to play on a 5 well enough so i end up dropping the E--> D anyway haha)
  4. think the original was in E-flat and our guitarist wanted to make things harder for himself and i didn't want to downtune haha (i was a much fresher faced bass player 20 years ago)
  5. You spin me round - (dead or alive)
  6. So let me start by saying i'm a 5 string player.. Learnt on a 4 string, but a dance show we were playing live for wanted us to play black velvet at a show and for the life of me i couldn't figure a way to do it on a 4 string so i bought a 5'er... this was about 20 years ago now and i've played a 5'er ever since... BUT............ i'm considering going back to 4 string (with a hipshot d'tuner for those Drop D tracks) am i being crazy thinking about going back to a 4 string? Should i just stick with my 5'er and that amazing low B - or is 4 string really enough (lets face it i'm sure i mostly use it as a soft bendy thumb rest a lot of the time). Thoughts? Cheers low enders.
  7. what makes the "VINTERA" range so sort after?
  8. @JuliusGroove - Jack just bought my Barefaced 212T off me - great comms - speedy payment awesome fella too - 100% recommended basschatter
  9. cheeky weekly bump
  10. Sunday bump
  11. Friday bump
  12. Hi sorry didn't get my usual email notifications. The cab is Gen 2 - the link in the OP is from Alex at Barefaced as i wanted to confirm what cab i had so the details are accurate in there. it might be 19kg but feels super lite an easy 1h carry if you have too - but the wheels are great
  13. Bump (almost forgot i'd posted this - summer holidays have been busy)
  14. Being delivered to @Hamster tomorrow morning (about to double check)
  15. AWESOME Lets get this arranged. i'll drop you a PM
  16. I tried a couple of local schools to me, and a youth club - but sadly it was "too heavy" for them to collect / move around can't give it away
  17. Reluctantly but needs must we have up for sale my Barefaced Super Twelve T (the one with adjustable tweeter) Barefaced website stuff - https://barefacedbass.com/product-range/super-twelve.htm This is the Gen 2 cab i believe It's been great gigging with this behind me but the band have moved over to IEM's so it's now surplus to requirement - i may get a BF SC one day just so i still have a cab - but for now cab has to go Comes with a generic looking Roqsolid cover - it's a bit "meh" looking but it's kept the cab as you can see in excellent condition The wheels work as they should but the cab is super liteweight anyway an easy 1h carry in or out of any gig If you're looking you already know these things shift some serious air and sound amazing - i've never had a bass head that can push the FULL potentiol out of this thing and i've never even turned my Eich T-900 up more than 1/3rd at any gig so i've never even had the loudest i can get out of it. Price is firm - Collection only from Basingstoke - could consider a 30 ish min drive to meet up if that helps for fuel money or at least a costa flat white Please allow 48 hours for me to arrange collection from the Studio we practice at (as i dont have space at home to store it) Thanks for looking Big JHW
  18. This was my 1st ever bass cab for gigging - it's been VERY WELL USED as has the 1x15 i bought to go along with it Tested a few months back and was stunned it all still worked. this is FREE to anyone who's willing to come and get it from the studio we practice at - we need to free up some space. Location - Basingstoke I don't have the blurb for it - but i'm sure it's out there online - but i know it's heavy and bulky so bring a big boot As you can see on the back of the 1x15 the "jack" input has broken - but the speakon still works and i have a jack to speakon cable i'll send with it i don't have the kettle lead for it - but i'll see if the band lead has a spare laid around or if i can find one for you We'll need to arrange a time for collection as it's stored at the studio we practice at - so please allow 48 hours for me to arrange that with Band Lead as he has the keys.
  19. **SOLD ELSEWHERE** For sale my old TC Electronic BQ500 bass head usual scrapes on top from gigging but has no effect on it's performance Upgraded to the Eich T-900 as i wanted something i could rackmount and kept this as a back up that i've never needed to time to move it on blurb from TC Electronics - https://www.tcelectronic.com/product.html?modelCode=P0CQS was going to paste the blurb here - but it's LONG so ermm link above. This is collection only as i have nothing to ship it in so priced accordingly - could consider a 30 ish min drive to meet up if that helps for fuel money or at least a costa flat white Please allow 48 hours notice of when you want to meet up as this is stored at the studio where we practice so i'll need to arrange to go pick it up. Thanks for looking Big JHW
