  1. my bookmark for getting to Basschat take me straight to the market place. hmmm this doesn't bode well for 2023 - maybe i should change that
  2. This pleases me as it's been shipped and i'll have it tomorrow
  3. Ordered the BB1025 so i can join the BB owners group real soon I tried a BB735A back when i bought my Eich T900 bass head - it felt great but paired with the Eich it was super clean. The band i mostly play in play a lot of rock - and the BB1025 should in theory sit very nicely in the mix with a rock band. i may down the line grab a 735A i defo think i'm going to stick to the BB range now - everyone one i've played from the budget ones to the P35 (i think that's what it's called) have been amazing to play from tone to just the feel of the instrument - so i think i'll stop looking at other brands for now (unless a sneaky lottery win comes in then i've got a couple of Warwicks i'd like haha) thanks all
  4. nope but i'll join in next year or i think i'll need to find a new wife
  5. Love my T-900 they are shockingly good for the money - that "taste" knob sure does it's thing very well but i do understand that SVT need GLWS
  6. So after my frustrating experience with a Sterling i'm going to do what i should have done in the 1st place and get me a BB Bass - i've been a yamaha bass fan since my 1st ever bass some 25years ago (an RBX 250 P bass thing that cost £150 new !!). but i'm torn and would love an opinion (i tried to look through the thread but with over 99999 pages to read through i ran out of brain power) BB 1025 (2nd hand not the 1025X) or BB 735A i appreciate they're quite different but 2nd hand they're both the same price so it's a tough choice. I probably won't use the active circuit too much on the 735A but i guess it's nice to have it there, but the 1025 has a more rounded sound (vintage rather than modern) which has it's own appeal thoughts? thanks lowenders
  7. Realised i never updated this post. Well as it is finalised as of today Bass was returned to the reseller and i have been refunded even 4.5 months after buying it Long donkey story short - the neck on the bass was buggered and wouldn't straighten out, not to mention tooling marks all over it - glue showing on some frets, a P**S poor job of fret leveling and the nut needed work too. Obviously reluctant to take the bass back we ended up speaking the the distributor who sent out a new neck - only to find the truss rod didn't work on that one too. Clearly in disbelief they actually went and check their brand new stock only to find (to their shock) the truss rods on the new stock basses didn't work either - so needless to say refund was offered right away, very apologetic and they're sending a whole bunch of Indonesian basses back to the manufacturer this week.. Clearly something has gone very wrong in the factory and i just happened to highlight it to them - so silver lining i guess - at least some questionable basses are now off the shelf and not going to end up in some poor sods lap somewhere. Think i'm gonna go with what i was going to get in the 1st place and find me a nice Yamaha BB 435 or nice used BB 1025 - i just really liked the look and possibilities of this Sterling Ray35 HH - ah well lemon has gone back Onwards and upwards
  8. stunning work, neck repair is super smooth i'm waiting for your kiss bass to go 5 string (it was me on facebook that asked haha) sadly can't afford a new bass at the mo but this would be purrrrfect
  9. Awesome bass - just wish it was white (i'm odd like that) GL with the sale
  10. free bump for you as i just found your ebay listing (so i came here to compare the prices lol) sadly not after a bass right now - but this is an amazing looking instrument
  11. Ok says listing has ended (can't imagine it sold) - but WOW super cheap delivery what a steal !!!
  12. i don't know if i want my speakers to have SD or VD need a cream to clear that up.... And i'm sure you have to take a shot if you get Xmax i am leaning towards a 2x10 - tho i do like the BF SC... Urghh makes my brain ache haha
  13. Oddly (well probably not thinking about it) I already considered a BF SC as their cabs are awesome - was just a touch out of budget for now.. Maybe in the new year tho.. hmmm
  14. Hey, I did have a good trawl though the forum but alas came up with nowt so hope you don't mind. I'm torn between getting a 2x10 or a 1x12 I know I've mentioned before that I'm using a BF 212T - and i do love it but for the ease of loading up the car i thought i'd get something a little smaller - i mean honestly there hasn't been an occasion yet since getting the 212T that I've ever actually used it at anything that could really be considered "loud".. using the Eich T900 i don't think i turn up above 1/4 at any gig so the 212T is WAAAAAAY too much for my needs in these little venues we play.. that said i will keep it cause i know it's gonna happen one day. So - I play mostly ROCK !! Everything from 60's --> more modern stuff i don't use pedals at all i do play a 5 string so needs to handle the bottom B (you know - that comfy thumb rest that looks like a bass string) Budget is low so sub £500 ideally (i do keep checking the ads page on here) thoughts / suggestions/ insults welcomed thanks low enders. Big J
  15. love the look of these.. shame you're 4 hours away bit too much of a trek for my old fatass out of interest how well these Aluminium cabs handle a low B on a 5'er?
  16. if i had the cash at the mo (week after kids birthday so nope no cash left ever apparently) i'd be taking the 30 min drive to come rob that off ya.. GLWS
  17. The idea of this coming up - i'm regretting the 1150 i spent on a borked Sterling
  18. I think after reading through everything you've all said - i should have realised as soon as i played it at home. Should probably have called the reseller and arranged for it to go back right away basses are a bit like cars with me.. i know how to drive one i just don't know anything about the mechanics that make them work if/when the wife kiddo and i ever move house and have the space - 1st thing i'm doing is getting a space set up where i can learn as much as possible about the mechanics behind a bass - setups - even building them - so hopefully i won't feel like such a pleb next time a lemon lands on my doorstep. ah well we live and learn. i'll wait to hear back from the fella that has the bass atm and update you all of course.. but i think in all fairness as much as i love the look and feel of the bass it's going back to them - hopefully they can do what ever work is needed and get it back to me. otherwise going forward i'll ALWAYS try a bass out before i buy it (not just grab it online) - and if anything doesn't feel right - just walk away thanks for all your input
  19. No, honestly it buzzed no matter how it was tuned. standard or down half step (how i tune) Nope i didn't as it was fresh outta the box. the fret buzz was that annoying i decided to get it to the luthier before i as a total noob when it comes to bass fiddling did anything to it. Figured send it to someone that "knows" before i try owt..
  20. Hey hey, Guy is actually a luthier (not just a guy i know haha) he makes guitars/basses for guitar shows etc fully accredited and has done many many a setup/service/repair etc.. i know he's had it 3 days now - but i'm not the only job he's got on and i expect a week or so turn around on any instrument i send anywhere for a service/setup as i know i'll be at the back of the queue when i drop it off.
  21. Any starting to feel like i bought a lemon. my own fault really - broke my cardinal rule of "never buy an instrument you haven't played 1st" and bought it online without seeing it till it got here. yes - it shouldn't have left the shop in its current state, but at the same time - i should defo have gone and tried it out 1st - would have known about these issues before and not bought it we shall see what happens
  22. i'm busy at work as you can tell by how long it takes me to respond Exactly really where i'm at right now - me - bass - cable - amp - cab Like you there's only really 2-3 tracks in the band that i think could "use" a little something but it's not the end of the world if i don't as the bass still sounds awesome on its own. Tis why i wasn't sure if a pedalboard was a good idea or stick with the ME50B.. guess i should also consider the idea of NO effects and stick with the simplicity of "just the bass" - it has it's own charm
  23. Oh i'd love too, sadly i live in a shoebox with no real space to set anything up with the wife n kiddo. the day we move out and have a SHED or a Garage with enough space i'm setting up a workshop to try and build a bass and learn to do my own setups etc.. but alas till that day i have to take it to a someone that knows more than me.. he still has it btw as it's on his list of guitars to work on this week - he's oddly very busy building guitars and doing setups for other people.
  24. hey hey, he did say "he hasn't seen one" - there's no doubt that there are 1000's of excellent instruments that come out and happy players everywhere otherwise the factory would be shut down.. i guess he has that opinion because the only time a luthier usually "sees" one of them is when there's something wrong. Yeah gonna wait and see what comes back from my setup guy - i've asked for a full breakdown of what needs to be worked to make it playable then i'll have to have a chat with the reseller.
  25. personally i'm still running an older BF Super 12T But if/when the time comes for it to be replaced (no signs of that yet thankfully) for sure i'll be going to Alex and BF for a new cab. they're not cheap - but the sound you get from them is better than anything i've played over the years. Here's hoping they're still going as/when my cab kicks the bucket and even if i have to sell off the 1st born or a kidney or two i'll pay what they're asking for a new cab. Shame things are so tough for everyone at the mo.
