1. Try loudspeaker.co.uk but it might be cheaper to get a new cab.
2.
Bay City Rollers guy played like that ..
Frontman of Manc band 'Doves' does too I think.
3. No point trying to butter me up now. I'm so hurt, I'm taking it down the dump.
4. Can I still bring a trestle table and my car boot sale stuff from the garage?
5. Might look/sound a bit strange if you stick a non-matching one in there.
6. Adding in my L2000 Tribute....
7. I'm a lefty who does righty too. I also know a lefty guitard who plays a LH guitar but strung right-handed (i.e. upside down). How weird's that?
8. That'll be your 5-string blowing it up. Taken it apart and seen what the drivers are? You might struggle to get a direct replacement - although it is a current model. Maybe worth giving their distributors Sound Tech a call. Sound Technology 17 Letchworth Point, Letchworth Hertfordshire, SG6 1ND England tel: +44-1-462-480-000 fax: +44-1-462-480-800 email: [email protected] website: http://www.soundtech.co.uk/ Give me a hollar if you're stuck without a cab for a gig and I'll lend you mine if I'm not gigging it.
9. Silverfoxnik - what have you started here. It's like a runaway steamroller.
10.
I spent a small fortune on a Naim Audio system only to find that it's too revealing of the limitations of the source material and the mix engineer's ability !! 70% of my CD's sound horrible....... don't even think about MP3 playback..... !!!
Saying that - I remember having a Steely Dan album (think it was Katy Lied) that had all this guff in the liner notes about it how it was a true audiophile album that was recorded with no EQ, compression and with only top of the range German mics. Guess what? It sounded sh!te...
11. Well remembered Mr Mert, thanks. Any chance of said pics please?
12.
Ashdown amps & cabs; wooly sound, pointless retro design, not easy to get a decent sound out of and definitely a case of 'style over substance'.
With you there. Sorry Ashdown lovers but I've plugged into both high-end and low-end stuff and couldn't get a sound I liked out of either. And Mark Bass amps. They may be small, light and powerful but they look awful. /runs from lynch mob. Edit: oh, and quilted maple tops. They look lovely on guit*rs but always look like stone cladding on basses.
13.
So it would match the others then?
Haha...beat me to it.
14.
If anyone's interested there is a 4 page interview with Mr King in this months Performing musician mag.
What a terrible interview! The guy's got 10 minutes or whatever with MK at his rehearsal room, for a magazine about live sound/performing live and he asks him about Level 42 back in the 80s. Questions like: 'talk us through your live set-up' and 'how do you get a good bass sound on stage' might have been better questions. Anything rather than: "Why did the band split up...' Edit: quite a good little mag though, never read it before.
15. I've got a sealed pack of D'Addario Pro Steels 50-105 that I'd swap for the 45-105 nickels (never heard of SIT, but happy to give them a go...)

17.
I have looked at the Manual but it does not specify the speaker connections. Can someone tell me if it will take 1/4 jack plugs and speakons? Can you get a cable that is Speakon one end and jack the other? Thanks
Drop OBBM a line. He makes excellent custom bass cables. His website is: bassic.co.uk
18. For anyone using iWeb, and frustrated by the lack of meta and alt tags, I've now found an add-on that allows you to add all the information before you upload to a third party server. Google: Rage iWeb SEO tool.
19. It's the neck that does it for me - fat frets, blocks and binding. Omm nom nom.
20. I've sold two basses recently, it was cathartic. ...then I bought two amps and a graphite neck. I blame the internet.
21. Thanks - but looking to sell not trade.
