1. If anyone needs to put a good demo together in Surrey area, I'd recommend Sniff N Break studios. It's a small end of the garden type set-up in Farnham but it's got a drum/vocal booth, Logic and a friendly guy who runs it. We've done a couple of sessions. 4 songs in a day for £150 all in, on a CD. You can spend more on production if you need to, but for cover bands it's perfect. Drop Ali Edwards a line (via weblink above) and tell him Matt from the Wag The Dog sent you. You can hear the demos we recorded with him HERE
2. I wouldn't stress about getting a 5er. All those dubbers used 4s didn't they. Just turn up the bass up on the amp!
3. You might have to go clothes shopping - France isn't great for guitar shops. All the ones I've ever been into seem to have a load of copies and very little in the way of basses. No wonder their music's rubbish! Can't you persuade her that New York's really cheap at the moment? That way you could bring a little something home for yourself at $2 to the £1.
4. I feel reckless - I might go out tonight and mix my drivers. Then have a kebab.
5.
..it's also the London Tattoo Convention that weekend (although looks like I'll be going on Sunday now). So mark me down as a maybe!
Is that a pencil or are we inking you in?
6. Nice rig! What sounds better - the V type or the AH600? I don't think you'll use that AH600 much, so a better idea would be to sell it to me for £100.
7. He may look a bit like an animated hamster - but this French kid's funky...
8. He must have fallen out with them because I doubt they'd pull his name off a signature model in haste - all that rebranding must be a bit of a nightmare. Sure there's a good story there...
9. Sold my G&L L2000 to Sam who was a nice guy to deal with throughout. Recommended.
10. Tone sounds great with those new strings Sam. Really glad you're enjoying it. What settings did you pick for that recording?
11. Sounds very fishy. Walk away. Buy the one above ^^ or wait for one to turn up here.
12.
The problem with 'rays is they're a bit like sh*t in a field. I still like 'em though...
Are you saying my black beauty is akin to a cowpat?
13. All of these look like the same bass - just in different colours. I wouldn't mind a go though.
14. Better and more hardcore pics of my black SR4...
15. For that cash, I'd want picking up in the Back To The Future time machine, so I could go back to 1964 to play it box fresh.

17. I'll take a better pic tomorrow - because that looks disgusting. Must have been a night after a sweaty gig a while ago. Ugh.
18. A dirty black one. Wish I still had that amp...
19.
Give her my best regards!
You should go and tickle her with your 52 pair of hands.

22. Nik - any chance of getting someone in who could do set-ups for £s on the day? I've got at least two basses that could do with a good set-up and it would be nice to get them done on-site, while I'm sipping a lager and playing someone else's bass badly. Edit: oh and Merton - nice J retro - but stick your neck out and take a pic of it please. I want to see some hardcore graphite please!
23.
I do actually prefer the original `angular' Status body shape and Rob was considering my suggestion of a `vintage' re-issue range!
I''d seriously consider buying one of those if he did them.
24. That neck looks tasty Kev - hopefully going to send mine off this week to have one fitted.
