1.
To get the ball rolling, here's my not so expensive, but still lush sounding and playing SUB bass:
Nice looking SUB there Sam. Wish I'd got one when they were around - love the painted neck on the SUBs.
2. The all graphite Series 2000 does it for me. Why did they not make more of these? Did people not like the look or were they too expensive?
3.
I found that it was the same one that kept coming to gigs with me time after time.
+1. The others just sit in the cupboard!
4.
MB1. Steady!....I dont come from Oldham!...will sort some pics later!....youll only want to buy it Rich!
Come on MB1 - flash the graphite!
5. I wonder if wedding bands will still be playing the same stuff in 20 years time - or whether people will demand McFly.
6. Sounds like you've got a good Jazz there - hang on to it - if you sell it, you'll hunt around for one the same and never find it! I used to have a Walnut Squier Jazz that I should have kept. Loved the finish, it just felt a bit weedy. In hindsight, I should have swapped the pickups and maybe made it active. Take a look at Villex pickups - I tried a Squier Jazz with a pair fitted at the last SE bass bash and it sounded great.
7.
Ah cheers mate, appreciate it! I don't think I've listened to the original enough to know what it should be haha! I think a good friend of mine tried out for Wag The Dog actually, couple of years ago now, if you were still playing in the band then! Big guy called Dave, probably turned up with either a Strat, Vigier or a PRS Si
Must have been a different WTD - we've only ever had one guitarist.
8. Chorus: F-->C-->G-->D with a E passing note back into the F
9.
Also check out the "video" medley we did....the footage is made up from 3 different takes, but the audio is live from one of the takes.
Great playing on that Si. Best cover I think I've seen yet of Dani California. I think I prefer your bassline over the original.
10.
That 2eq Ray looks great with the Status neck, Steve!
Very nice...
11. This thread is making me GAS for a S2 or S2000.
12. People write some right old tosh on Ebay, don't they. I think that sheet of ply behind the bass is probably worth more.
13.
If you're in the market for an ABS rack case dont get on of these, they're sh*te !!
If only all reviews for stuff were as honest as that. We'd all save ourselves a load of money.
14. Just Googled Donaghadee - looks pretty. Welcome along Pete!
15. Great gigging cabs - I've got exactly the same.
16. Anyone got any shots of their Status graphite necks on other basses please? Just about to pull the trigger on one for my Stingray and need to whet my appetite!
17. Replacing the strap pins for strap lock ones are no big deal. I've got Boston straplocks on my Stingray and other basses and they work fine. About £7 a set from Dangleberry music.
18. Always nice to have a pro bassist around - welcome.
19. Try to get to play a G&L L2500 Tribute. Your search will be over...
20. Reading this thread is strangely making me want to dep for a function band. Anyone need a dep for function stuff around Surrey/Hants area?
21.
ABSOLUTELY HATEFUL HATEFUL SONG, but you would have thought we were throwing £50 notes on the dance floor when we played it, everytime even with young trendy couples who liked Damien Rice and that Jack...
22.
"Best Practice" download here http://www.xs4all.nl/~mp2004/bp/ Slow down/speed up/change pitch. Great stuff. And absolutely free.
Looks great - but Windows only.
