1. Haha....result! You might want to be careful what you look up online at work though, sounds like they've got good eyesight.
2. As you say, any normal bass people look for dinks and dings when it's secondhand. But if it's a 60s/70s Fender, it seen as desirable. I do like my amps to be in very good condition though. Otherwise you look a bit of a tramp when you do a gig!
3. Good man - got any photos of said bass please to whet appetite?
4. Adding some sound clips. Solo: HERE In the mix - which is where this bass shines I think. Cuts through really well live too. Click HERE. Strings were a bit dead when I recorded these - but you get the idea.
5.
I nearly didn't. I had to physically prise it out of Matt's hands before he left when he called in a couple of months ago.
Yeah yeah... don't rub it in... Sorry Mert - someone on here was talking about playing your graphite necked bass and wanting to mod a SR, so I got confused. Could you bring your Status though pls?
6.
I managed to kill my MB amp last night. The sound went but the power light stayed on. 5 mins later it's almost bursting into flames. Smoke shooting out of the vents like nobodies business ha ha.
I love a BBQ - could you chuck a burger on for me please?
7.
I get most of my strings from the States via ebay. Much cheaper than buying them here.
+1 on that. I'm currently using D'Addario nickels which are ok, but not brilliant. I find a lot of stainless strings a bit rough to the touch, but I might swap back.
8.
Is it going to be a real diamond, or another flashy bass-playing-vespiary, how do ya, guys, think?...
Hmm... I'm thinking the latter. Great players, for sure. But for me, there's something inherently dull about soloing bassists! I'll be sorting out the odd socks that night.
9. G&L L2000 Tribute. SOLD
10. I'd be tempted to get the band together first and fit the kit around it. Chances are, you won't need anything like a £1k rig!
11. Have a look over at Thomann
12. Merton - can you bring your Stingray with the graphite neck please?
13.
Touch wood no none so far mate, it's hooked up to my Ashdown and I use it most days and so far it's been realiable
...and I've been using one for my PC/bass everyday for a while with no probs at all. Recommended.
14.
Gone....
At last - the gestation on this one was longer than my first born! What did you swap for in the end?
15.
tempting...... but I'd need to buy a Jaydee again, can't afford one so i'll have to keep my wallet closed !! have a bump on me
It would be perfect for all those U2 covers... ...band sounds good btw.
16.

*Ouch* my back's hurting just looking at that rig. Bet it sounds fantastic though. I want a go!
17.
Do you dance on stage?
Only when I need a wee. But I do jig about at a matter of fact - always end up bashing the headstock on something!
18. Slap my bitch up! Lovely stuff. Off to put Level 42's Early Tapes on...
19. Don't do it Pete. Give money to Crack Converters, that is. Buy an SX from Rondo Music.
20. Love his playing with the Clash and attitude on-stage but that band in the photos - The Good Band & The Queen are truly terrible. I had the misfortune to see them doing a showcase gig a year or two ago and it was painful. I've had more fun at the dentist.
21. Far out. If only they'd had a Basschat porn section in 1967... Man. I think I'd need a disco biscuit to wear this one out to a gig but good work getting it all done. I often think about putting a bass together, then I remember I can't even get round to tidying the garage up! Nice work.
