Tricky one. FCN is your best best but supply is limited, so there's not much discount around. You're better off buying 2nd hand or sourcing a new one out of the States where coverage is a lot better.

Relax but don't relax so much that you end up having a chat every five minutes about everything. Keep an eye on the time and keep a momentum about the session so you're aware of what you've still got to do. Allow *loads* of time to do the vocal track. It's the single most important bit you'll do but can be the rushed thing at the end.

Wedding in Maidstone. Didn't know what to expect as we play punky covers but the bride and groom led the charge and the dancefloor was full all night. All ages dancing to everything from The Clash to The Fratellis. Top party and spurred us on to play brilliantly. The only time the dancefloor emptied was when the DJ came on in the break.

I really fancy one of these but £5/600's a lot for a MIM bass. I think they've missed a trick with this model. If they'd have made it as a premium American (or even CIJ) bass, and got some decent artist endorsement behind it, I think it would have been a good seller.

Had good experiences with both [url="http://www.imuso.co.uk"]imuso.co.uk[/url] and [url="http://www.absolutemusic.co.uk"]absolutemusic.co.uk[/url] (they seem to be very competitive at the moment).

Pickups in middle, series (I think, middle switch in down position) and active switch in the middle. Edit: oh and bass/tone pots wide open.

Anyone tried/used/owned one of Fender's [url="http://www.fender.com/products/search.php?partno=0138100306"]'Big Block' Precisions[/url]? How do they sound and feel? Really different to a Precision. Like a lot of people here, I'm thinking dirty thoughts about getting a P bass and this caught my eye.

Cheers for posting these up. Really nice playing on Ruby - that Simon Rix from the Kaisers writes some nice bass lines, doesn't he? Interesting that you use the G&L on passive, I think the active elecs are what make the G&L sound for me. Gives it that "hi-fi" sound. Perhaps I'm just so used to hearing that kind of sound that everything sounds a bit muffled otherwise - 'active bass tinitus' if you like!

Nice kit. Band sounds good too.
