1. There's always room for another.. Just a PS to say I'll leave this on here for a week and then will put it on Ebay for £440 BIN delivered *without* the case (which is what they seem to go for). Will prob then sell the case as a sep item for £50.
2. I'm open to offers from BassChatters. Ideally would like to swap this for a G&L L2000 Tribute or similar. Any money from this is going back on another bass anyway. As ever, would rather someone here got this bass.
3. It's a great bass - just not my cup of tea. With a pukka Fender case and delivery, £420's a pretty good price then!
4. BUMP with new pix! Would rather this went to a BC'er than Ebay.
5. Recommend Award-Session. They make up custom cables using good quality cable and Neutrik connectors at their place in Basingstoke. Fast turnaround and good value - eg 6m for 10 quid. Delivery reasonable too. I bought two and they're great. http://www.award-session.com/cleartone_cables.html
6. Check out the Yamaha BB414 for sale in the "Basses: For Sale" section. A really good buy.
7.
$40? That's £20. You could afford that if you stayed in one night of a weekend, no?
Just checked again and it's actually $45, which you're right, is only about £20ish. If no-one's interested, I might buy it myself but I'd just thought someone might like to know about it and share it with me. Like I say, longshot but worth asking!
8. Longshot - but does anyone want to split the cost of a bit of software with me? Have found a great little app that works in the same way as a Tascam BT1 trainer. It slows down the song while retaining the pitch. The killer bit about it is that it plays, CDs, MP3s and MP4s (iTunes). The demo version lets you see it in action but prevents you from using it fully (naturally). I quite fancy buying the licence but it's $40. Anyone fancy going halves with me? I'd ask the guitarist in my band but he's not very computer savvy. Have a looksee: http://www.ronimusic.com/amsldowin.htm and PM me if you're interested.
9. Very nice. Think you could afford to get another blatant www.basschat.co.uk in at the bottom there. People tend to skim read things and spelling it out again at the bottom wouldn't hurt. Otherwise, very good!
10. Now sold pending payment Non-export Aerodyne made for Japanese market. Beautiful bass that always gets people asking about it. Binding and finish on it are superb. Metallic blue sparkle type colour & matching headstock. Supplied with an original Fender Jazz hard case (which was bought at extra cost), Fender gig bag and Jap manual/tools. Great bass to play, P/J pickups give a good range of P or J tones. Great attack with pick. Freshly re-strung with Ernie Ball Slinkys. Only £399 with the Fender moulded hard case Cheers Matt
11. Hello Joe. Welcome!
12. If I didn't already own this bass in exactly the same colour, I'd buy it right now. With the case, it's a steal. These basses really benefit from a good set-up but once they're done, they're fantastic. Forget a Mex or Jap Fender, these are much better built, nicer to play and sound a lot punchier. Actions speak louder than words and for the last three gigs, I've used my Yamaha bass like this one, leaving my Stingray at home in the cupboard.
13. Just a thought - your nearest rehearsal place would probably take that off your hands.
14. And not a Fender in sight - good man! That Bongo's strangely seductive.
15. 16.
Do you still live in a cave and sleep on straw?
No - I'm in the south - we've got all mod cons down here.
17. Stop talking about G&Ls. It's making me want one! I'm putting my fingers in my ears now...la la la la.... Now I'm taking them out to look on Ebay.
18.
A few changes to report on the rig front - still got my GK1001RBII head, I've added a Korg DTR1000 tuner and stuck it all in an SKB 4U shallow rack unit. The blanking plate is there to hide the gap needed because the head's fan is on the top of the amp. On Sunday, I picked up the cab - a Schroeder 410R from Andyonbass but haven't gigged it yet. First impressions after my Epifani UL310 are...bloody hell it's heavy and f. me it's heavy. I can't remember if it's 1400 watts or 1400 kgs but - it sounds nice at room level and by all reports should sound marvellous live.
Can I be nosey and ask why you've changed cabs please? Aren't Epifani's sposed to be the dogs dangleys? I can't keep up!
19.
Well guys I took your advice about buying used and trying out! Today I am the proud owner of a Hartke HA3000 head and VX410 cab! It's loud enough, without pushing it above level 4 volume and not too big to rely on others to transport until i get a vehicle. Thanks for all the help.
Well done. I gigged a VX410 for a couple of years in pubs, bars and even fields and it did fine. They're pretty lightweight too for a 4x10. Happy gigging.
20. Another Rickenbacker-don't-getter here. Great sound but playing one feels like playing an ironing board. Plus struggle to get comfy with a lot of Fenders - feel too big and too old fashioned.

HI

Welcome to London, Shaun. Good man for bringing the bass!
22. Nice rig. And pretty portable too!
23.
I've got one of each and the main difference for me is that the Sterling has more mids than my 2 band Ray and punches through the mix a lot better. It's also more versatile tonewise and has a higher output than the Ray but the Nordstrand pup installed might have something to do with that.
You've got a Sterling, eh? Ooh...I'll keep a lookout for that in the For Sale section then. Surely only a matter of days, eh? Haha.
24. As for the US, check out http://www.musiciansfriend.com (Guitar Center) and http://www.samash.com Remember that you run the risk of being stopped bringing anything back into Britain and charged VAT and import duty. Lots of people don't get stopped by factor that into your calculations when in the States!
25. There's a very tasty Yamaha BB414 currently for sale in the FS section for under £200. Great, versatile bass, that feels more like £500 and it's not a copy of something.
