I had the same problem with Muse ‘hysteria’ it’s a simple bass line but the constant drive and push is relentless throughout the song. took me a goodly while to bang it down and occasionally I still trip up. perseverance is king

Is that the hi-beams your using in DR? Thats my brand for sure, I love the fat-beams though. Sun beams on fretless and I’m trying some pure blues on the Wal. love the tension on them

I know you shouldn’t have to pay more but have you thought of having it re-finished there’s some top guys around you could have more input with in the UK

I love musicman I won’t lie but that aside. Not as punchy as a P bass? There’s something wrong somewhere. They are naturally scooped so you probably need to cut the bass and treble a bit then boost the mids. it’s a different beast completely and will need different EQ. Give it awhile and I’m sure you will dial it in.

There’s a lot of people with a lot of knowledge and experience on here. You might be surprised at the level some have played at. Arena sell out bands. Professional players with decades of gigs behind them. Don’t complicate things, just relax and enjoy the ride 😄
