  1. Lovely bass line with a good sound set up or headphones
  2. Dads a professional musician great friends with victor Wooten. She played on victors spirit of music audio book. Sponsored by mark bass after playing for 10 months. Of course she’s had to put in the hours of practice but she wasn’t exactly starting at the same level as the rest of us 😂🤣 I’m sure we’ll see a lot more of her in the future she has a great team behind her.
  3. Depends on how the scratch or ding got there, gigging it happens, in fact a drummer in my old band had an old crash cymbal set up for me to pound on with the headstock with a Warwick thumb. I was young… what p!sees me off is dinging it at home by turning round into something or knocking something (ceiling after beers) taking the bass off
  4. A bit of dub by Vivian Jones He recorded a lot of heavy stuff as well as the lovers rock
  5. Another fine female reggae performer, Hollie cook Daughter of Paul cook of the sex pistols. She used to be in The Slits Here’s the dub version. I may possibly have posted this before but my memories like a sieve 😂🤣
  6. I’ve never really looked into the history of them, I think being a passive musicman they were not so popular. Seems from what I read people thought they were just another ‘p bass copy’ They were also very expensive new. The build quality and pickups though are just superb and if you get the chance to try one do so you’ll be surprised.
  7. I have gathered a few basses around me that have certain qualities or tones I want and they all play beautifully. But the one I find most pleasing and easy to play is this Musicman Cutlass. It just feels so pliable and easy. Fingers just flow across the fretboard, It’s comfortable, it’s familiar, I can find no fault. Don’t get me wrong, the other basses I have have been sourced selected and are all great. This is the one I reach for subconsciously though.
  8. Absolutely a bang on pedal, I’d not change mine it’s cured my GAS for filters
  9. It’s good ear training to work things out without tab, they are useful for the small nuances you sometimes can’t hear in the mix but make a difference if they’re not there. I usually work out the bones of a track by ear then refer to tab if there’s something I can’t quite put my finger on, it’s certainly helped massively and does become easier with time. The one problem I get now is when I hear most music, I fade out the rest and just hear the bass line
  10. Lots of new faces, including mine, welcome back
  11. I’m sure that’s a fleabass in punk green. @AndyTravis can confirm
  12. Reggae, love it or hate it the bass can’t be denied
  13. This is what bass is all about
  14. That couch is huge!!! How many kids do you have? 😄
  15. Been listening to a bit of matumbi
  16. Just relax and let it sink in, suddenly the bass that seems so simple (what’s the bassist moaning about) as a guitarist is now sinking in. We may be more involved than you think 😂🤣
