I’ve tried a number of filter pedals but the one that stuck with me was the 3leaf GR2 the second variation of the Groove Regulator. Love this pedal.
-
Now I can’t unsee that…
-
Fair enough, now can I get the funds for a caprice too 🤣😂
-
Well your moving the Spector i’d defiantly try the caprice
-
I think this bass is all about the details and I haven’t found one wrong yet

I’d like a Myco Bepa, hard to come by now I played one years ago, I should have bought it then. there was one on the market place but it was in Europe and the VAT killed it dead for me 😩

I put a spell on you - Christone ‘kingfish’ Ingram (and Nina Simone)

There are Amazon staff on here telling you they are not being treated badly. Any director of any company be it large or small would be failing if he didn’t try to do this in his chosen field. I’m not saying it’s not a cruel world but do you think when the Woolworths or the coop or Sainsbury’s hit the market the same things were not said and yet now they are a part of normal life (well not the Woolworths) Times change and while it’s great to see small businesses flourish (I’ve owned a few) Why cut your own nose off to spite your face.

pffft you just gotta have faith…

Well, after a solid day on the waza I can say I love it, I haven’t turned or wanted to turn my amp on at all, what a great sound and that’s just as it comes from the shop, I’ve started to load my own patch presets in and it’s a only getting better, I think I’ve learned more new tracks today than I learned in the last month. Maybe it’s new shiny thing syndrome but man this thing rocks. All it needs is a DI out and whooooo heaven in the cans -
Oh just wait until you get into ohms and compression 😂🤣😂

A night and a days play here, nothing but quality sound so far. Apart from two phones nothing else is on WiFi. The transmitter feels a good solid push into the jacks on the basses I have. -
Absolutely that’s why I was interested I love my ray but I wanted a more traditional sound. This bridges the gap in feel and playability

Let me know how the practice goes later 👍🏻

No matter what we think of Amazon, the effects it has on high street shops, the way it treats its employees or the huge waste in boxes and packaging there’s two things you can’t take away from them and that’s efficiency and in a lot of cases price. As I sat noodling on the new MM cutlass a sudden sense of longing for some DR black beauties came over me, never used them before, heard them many times. It was 22:30 on a Saturday night so I was packing up for the evening anyway, I picked up the phone and started perusing the many outlets to order some. I normally play DR’s Fat-beams and Sunbeams (fretless) but jeesus, Black Beauties are expensive after you add p&p Enter Amazon, around £5 cheaper, free P&P and “am I reading this correctly” if I order in the next 3 hours they’ll be delivered next day… wait tomorrow is Sunday, isn’t it? I was expecting a next week delivery after the order had been processed Monday by the usual outlets. I’ll take some of that! So after the usual process to finalise the order it was off to bed and see what tomorrow brings. what can I say? At 09:30 this morning I heard the porch door slide open and by the time I got to the front door the driver had vanished leaving me a brand new set of DR Black Beauties 45-105. Love them or hate them Amazon do provide an amazing service…

OK, you can all give up the bass and go home now

I practiced drinking as a youngster and for sure I’m as accomplished now probably more so than I ever was… 🥴 -
The stingray has a more subtle warmer sound I’d say a sweetness but still carries the sustain and clarity, the Funk unlimited has a lane poor pick up and is just gnarly mid heavy and in your face, both very similar feel to play but very different tones and qualities

Doesn’t matter what bass I put through this it’s sounds amazing. head courtesy of @binky_bass cabs courtesy of @fabbabass who purchased them from a dealer that bought the spares from a John patitucci tour of the UK

An unexpected NBD. So when I got up this morning I wasn’t expecting to head to Stoke on Trent to do a deal in a tree shrouded shady lay-by. I’ve been getting along famously with my stingray and modulus FU lately, the sound I’ve finally dialled in is the tone that’s been living in my head for many years so all my attention has been on that. But there’s the problem, my Spector LE 77 is a 24 fret and the stingray 21 while the modulus is 22. I found swapping from the stingray to the modulus not any issue but when I popped out the Spector for more of a precision tone It felt like the 12th fret was suddenly far far away. Trying to just pick it up and play a riff I was on the wrong fret due to muscle memory reacting naturally to where I know I should be. (Well it Was on my stingray) So enter the market place for a quick peek (just research you understand) And I saw this…. 😯 Oooer missus!! But it’s passive? It’s beautiful, but it’s passive? Musicman quality, but it’s passive? 21 frets, but it’s passive… Suddenly GAS which I’m sure started in my bowels and then spread out to encompass my body kicked in and I was sending a PM to @ribbetingfrogto see if he was interested in a Noel Edmonds type Saturday morning swap for my Spector. After a bit of nail biting and googling the stinky poo out of ‘Musicman cutlass bass’ he agreed the Spector was something he did indeed like the look of. What can I say, shes a beauty, after getting her home and extracting her from the case she feels like a vintage bass, I can’t explain it, comfortable, familiar but worn in. Punchy, juicy but also not a tone I’m used to coming from my bag ends, it is however a sound I’ve known from so many tracks over the years. With its split humbucking pickup, tone wide open it’s a rock machine, tone shut down completely ‘look at meeee, I’m James Jamerson’ What a cracking bass and through the full tube Mesa or my Ampeg SVT it’s straight out of the golden age. This IS a reason to have more than one bass. Completely polar opposite to anything I own tone wise, but being a Musicman completely familiar in feel and playability. If you’ve not tried one and are a diehard fender man then your missing out. If your a staunch fender man and will use nothing else then avoid this bass, it will spoil your boyhood dreams The build quality is i feel better than any modern fender precision, custom shop I’m not including but they cost ridiculous amounts. The neck heel is a sculpted masterpiece and the neck like most musicman basses plays like a dream. All in all what a great day to check the market place and thank you to @ribbetingfrog for the deal.
