I never really got on with 5 string bass either even though I gigged with one for a few years, it was just a thumb rest for 99% of the time.
if your looking for a decent octave pedal the micro pog has great tracking and also octave up and down so you can get a sweet 8 string or 12 string sound.
but I think your best bet might be hipshot D Tuner.

I’ve recommended this before, it’s a series of exercises put together by Tony Franklin.
I’m fairly new to fretless myself but I’ve found this series on the TrueFire app extremely useful. It of course needs to be paid for but I think TrueFire are having a sale atm.
You get the backing tracks and notation/tab and you can isolate certain parts and loop tracks to practice along with.
