1. No real advice but best if luck with the band. Let us know how it goes.
2. stealth bass build. love it.
3. Nice! Small changes can make all the difference.
4.
No, but my new trumpet player's son does the original versions
Interesting. Small world isn't it.

Good point Bilbo. Will need to mull this over a bit.
6.
Can this mod be done with a pot for more control? If so which switch would be replaced?
Bit of a thread revival. Has anyone done this mod with a pot? To end up with a 3 band eq?
7.
Personally I send the DI from a pedal to FOH, use a small combo as a monitor to hear myself - thus I can adjust frequencies to suit what I need to hear and I let the soundman adjust the pedal output to suit FOH band requirements.
More and more I find myself thinking the same thing. I'm currently working towards getting appropriate sounds from bass and pedals, DI before the amp and using a small amp for monitoring.
8. I love the headstock. Really classy.
9. Another build to watch develop. Excellent.
10. Mmm, this sounds great. I think our drummer has an electric kit at home. Will ask him about it next time I see him.
11. Still watching with interest. Love how this is progressing.

Practise gear.
...zoom B1on...
Couldn't agree more. Also if you start playing with other people it's also a useful multi effects pedal
13. All the best with it. Sounds like you're doing a lovely thing for him.
14. A really interesting topic and one close to my heart. I don't play without an amp and cab very often but I do use very small and light gear. Something worth mentioning is that you can use some amps as a DI box without using a cabinet. Disclaimer - I believe that certain amps (valve amps?) can be damaged by doing this. I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will chip in.
15.
Love that headstock design.
Me too, showing off the neck construction under the top piece is very attractive.
16. Looking forward to this!
17. Currently working on a new originals set so not as long as some sets discussed above. I could play and sing through it solo on bass or guitar.
18.
But you only play up there because you hear the sounds and licks that you want. There is no compulsion altho I'd be thinking a large part of bass playing is no longer available to you if you don't/can't ever...
This. It's not compulsory but why not?
19. The ability to quickly find musicians with the same musical goals, ability and taste. Persuading them to play with me would be useful too. Edit - perhaps not exactly a musical talent.
20. Interesting rig, interesting man.
21. Hmm. 16 so 2001. Probably Idlewild or White Stripes.
22. Group hugs!
23.
I`d say probably at GK owners who do lots of gigs with provided rigs...
Yep, and GK owners who sometimes have to work with sound engineers who want to DI before the amp.
24.
Well, she still won't come on BC. Can't think of a suitable name, she says. But she did get up and play 34 scale bass on a proper outdoor stage, up steps, all made of scafolding and tarpaulins, with a sound tent wayyyy behind the audience, and seperate off stage speaker stacks. At a rugby ground. They were very small speaker stacks, in special speaker tents. But seperate off stage speaker tents they were. They opened our local Ukulele festial. First act of the festival in the lunchtime graveyard slot, so nothing earth shattering. But I'm pleased. Thought maybe you folks would be too.
Fantastic to hear for any new player.
25. Sounds like a good idea to me.
