1. How smooth and warm can the Big One be? I like treble in some situations so I wouldn't want to 'sacrifice' a mid-driver with another model, but if the cab can be a bit smoother it'd be great! Also, how aggressive sounding is it, and can this be dialled out at all? Lastly, someone told me that the mid-driver was a bit too much and there wasn't much bass from the speaker due to the thin plywood. I took this with a pinch of salt as it doesn't seem to go along with what I've heard about this cab. Were these views unfounded?
2. Does that Big One have the newest crossover?
3. You mentioned you'd finished the protoype on twitter. Any new pictures?
4. Can't wait
5. Are you going to update the Big One to be more flat or not?
6. This website is going to be great
7. Can we have SPL charts? Or are they unimportant?
8.
Wahey! I'm looking forward to this - although you never know, I might have bought one by then anyway, i'm getting an itchy trigger finger on it
Are you going to be gigging this? I may check it out.
9. The Midget is officially really cute.
10. Anyone on the Wirral gigging with one of these? If so, I might come and see it in action
11. I would say stack them so that the drivers are as close as possible, but still aligned vertically. Don't believe me though.
12. I was just talking to them about Big One covers the other day, which they say they would happily do - they just need dimensions and handle location and the like. I think the Compact being there just means someone's already ordered one and they've kept the dimensions. Every order they do is a custom one, so I don't think they keep a stock of them.
13. +1 Glockenklang. That's what I'd be looking at with that kind of money.
14. Where do you buy the foam from?
15. You're cab will be either 4 ohms or 8 0hms. If it is 8 0hms and your amp can deal with a 4 ohm load, you are able to add another 8 ohm cab. 2 x 8 ohms in parallel = 4 ohms. If your cab, however is rated at 4 ohms, you will need to buy a whole new set of cabs if you want more speakers.
16. The 112 I think would get twice as much power as either of the speakers in the 212. Take that as you will.
17. Either replace all of your cabs with something new or get another of the same (in this case aguilar 212). Those are pretty much the only options, it's nmot really worth it mixing different cabs as it might not work too well.
18. Annyone gigging on of these around the Wirral? I'd love to hear one, I just won't have the opportunity to do it myself for a bit
19.
what about a 2x15 and an 8x10 side by side. or lying on their sides.2x15 on the bottom.
Makes no sense at all frankly.
20. I wouldn't go for Bergs solely because of the price over here. If I were rich I would though, if I liked them of course.
21. Why don't you PM Tom on Talkbass? He's probably tried all of the 112s out there, knowing him.
22. Supposedly not as 'flat' as the LMII/III.
23. Just remember to not skimp on the cab.
24.
Didn't BG Magazine do a 1x12 shootout with Aggie, Berg, Mesa etc just over a year ago??
Yeah I think they liked the Aguilar the best as it sounded about as good as the Berg, but was cheaper. I think they gave a Zoot cab the value award when it was only slighlty cheaper than the Aguilar they seemed to love.
