  1. 8-10, apparently. No idea re outside space! Played there once indoors and it was dark when I arrived
  2. The miracle, so far as I can see, is having a fitted hard case. Who knew such a thing existed?
  3. Nowhere near as light, you are quite right. And I'd guess the 301 would be lighter still, with only the one pup and associated electrical gubbins. Oh dear..... I fear this may end up being expensive 😁
  4. I love the look of these 301/302s. Something simplistically elegant about the design. My inevitable question is - how much do they weigh?
  5. 5th September for me, too. My blues rock trio has been offered an outdoor gig. Yippee! The Pickerel Inn, Stowmarket, if anyone wants to come along and heckle.
  6. QC with most businesses will wax and wane, of course.
  7. Did he ever play a Wal?
  8. Did it come with earwax and a dog's tooth?
  9. I dropped a jar of marmalade on the floor once and, when clearing it up, found there was broken glass inside! A narrow escape. I wrote to Robertsons but they ignored me. Nicked from Viz. 😁
  10. Crikey. Could have done with strides like that after my vasectomy. More ballroom than the Lyceum, matron.
  11. Funnily enough I've been listening to this a lot lately, too. Drummer mate of mine wants to record it. I mentioned to him a few days ago when he was wanted to do the recording and he said 'Midnight Moses, not Amos Moses. Pay attention at the back! ' 😁
  12. For me, 'new music' is how I categorise something I haven't heard before. Doesn't matter when it was released. And I'll either like it or not, whatever the genre.
  13. Ii imagine you were expecting a blue tooth headset, not a white tooth one.
  14. Jazz bass with a slipped disc.
  15. I downloaded a free decibel meter app on my phone. Is it accurate? No idea. Nor do I have any idea why I have added this comment but there you are.
  16. Dead baby song. That is cruel. (snigger) For my taste EC hasn't played a good solo since Cream. As said above, he moved to Fenders and in doing so seemed to forget about the bridge pickup or, indeed, that the tone control can open up a bit more. Everything sounded like it was played on a kazoo. It is sometimes hard to believe that the sheer aggression of something like 'Spoonful', for example, is the same guy. That said I quite like a few of his pop tunes - 'Lay Down Sally' bounces along gently - but generally I prefer my music a bit edgier.
  17. Damnation, I forgot, I also have a Danelectro 56 single cutaway. Oops.
  18. One of the albums that kind of gets passed by is the 1995 release 'Walk On Water' where they all got back together again, albeit briefly. Back to form, I'd say. They re-did a couple of old favourites including a fab version of 'Lights Out' but the stand out track for me was 'Pushed To The Limit'
  19. Thank you! Yes, Noel is spot on with the vocal, I think - the most important bit for a Bon Jovi trib, I'd say.
  20. I saw UFO when Michael Schenker had first joined them - just before 'Phenomenon' was released. Wow, made a huge impression on me. Saw them again a few years on at the Roundhouse when they had one of their infamous on-stage bust-ups. MS stormed off. A few years ago my rock covers band always opened with 'We Belong To The Night'. What a great track! RIP, sir.
  21. Hmm. Mahrooschick Jake 5 Peavey Foundation 5 Gibson Thunderbird Gibson LP DC Squier JV Precision Harley Benton Shorty Precision Hondo Alien, modded. Hohner B2B Honcore - my 32" scale Hondo/Encore bitsa. Sprackenbacker. 2 that don't count Stagg EUB, modded. Sigma electro-acoustic So 10, if you don't count the two that don't count. Not too bad, I've usually had more.
  22. Some Precisions weigh in at 8lbs or less, Jazzes are generally more but I am sure there must be some lighter ones. When it comes to specific lightweight basses, there is a Fender Precision Lyte, which is an active P/J with a very thin neck. About 7lbs. Doesn't quite sound like an 'old school' Precision or Jazz but is very nice. There is also a rarer MB-4 which doesn't look like a Fender, passive P/J, sounds more like a Jazz, also with a skinny neck and around 7lbs. I am still evangelistic about my newest squeeze - the Harley Benton PB Shorty. Weighs around 7lbs, sounds exactly like a Precision bass but is short scale. An impossible bargain at £80 new.
  23. Tort scratchplate Sunburst finishes. Well, any burst finish, really. Tort scratchplate Modern single cuts where the upper bout looks like a cartoon whale. Tort scratchplate Red bases Tort scratchplate I think that's it. No, hang on, tort scratchplates. I've owned sunburst basses, once owned a red bass ( I had it refinished in black), currently own a single cut bass (but not particularly cetacean). But never ever a tort scratchplate.
  24. I might be interested on the duostrap, depending upon price.
  25. That was mine. Serious seller's remorse.
