  1. Bunch of flowers, take them out for a meal, take things steady. Don't expect to get past first base as you would with a valve.
  2. I have been called 'meat and two veg' in the past and wondered what was meant. All is clear
  3. Looks like I am the first to post some feedback for Mark (shoulderpet) I bought an Entwistle pickup from him in the very simplest of transactions. Great comms throughout, posted off speedily, arrived nicely packaged. Thank you for an easy deal, sir
  4. That was one of the less silly ones!? 😄
  5. I spent £85 on an Encore double cutaway shortscale. Body was extremely lightweight and neck was ok but nothing special. Then spent £90 on a Hondo II medium scale with a fantastic maple neck but boat anchor body. Sold pups for £20, bridge for £15, body for £10 so neck cost me £45. My local go-to luthier joined these two together in a feat of wizardry and charged me £80 Wilkinson bridge, £20(?) Entwistle pup £30-ish Kiogon loom £25-ish. I changed the Entwistle for a Fender CS 60s reissue model but will change back to an Entwistle as I prefer the attack . My maths makes that around £285 and I love it. 3.1kg of rock machine
  6. I don't watch much but for some reason I enjoy Repair Shop. There are two ladies who repair stuffed toys and I wondered if one of them was the inspiration for your avatar
  7. You may possibly find someone who would trade your Jazz neck for their Precision neck. Have you ever watched a TV programme called 'Repair Shop', btw?
  8. I like the bass tone on this track, particularly, but the whole album. Kind of perfect woody P bass.
  9. Bought a set of strings from Dan in the easiest and quickest of deals. Arrived next day! Thanks Dan. And Mike.
  10. No. I am not against the odd frivolous purchase (as my feedback thread will testify) but this was bass too far
  11. If it doesn't need to be Precision bass shaped I'd toss Yamamahaha into the ring, their BB424 does a great P sound and more, of course, with the J. Also a Westone Thunder 1 - one of the early ones with the split humbucker.
  12. Well, to misquote Benjamin Franklin: there's nothing more certain on Basschat - as in Life - than bad puns and Taxus. A little botanical humour there. Well, almost.
  13. My blues rock band are adding the Rory Gallagher song 'Secret Agent' to our set as it was suggested by a chap who comes to most of our gigs. Very straightforward - to the point that the changes will trip me up! Great tune though, not one I had heard before.
  14. Not dear, either BIN £220 or offer. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Westone-Spectrum-LX-Bass-Guitar/193412490440?hash=item2d084864c8:g:jdkAAOSwMQ5eiwWI
  15. If you want to move on those Entwistles, give me a whistle
  16. I don't want to seem contrary but if the Bronco were properly set up - neck relief, saddle height, neck angle are set properly and the frets levelled - you wouldn't get fret buzz. Nowt to do with body shape and/or neck dimensions.
  17. Posted this pic elsewhere but the addition of this Entwistle pup into this Hondo Alien has transformed it. Shortscale, headless and 2 octave neck - designed to play mind games!
  18. One would have hoped for a better bedside manner
  19. Now there is a good subject for a thread
  20. Strangely enough there were 3 of us coppers who had ME at the same time. One died, one is still badly afflicted and it pretty much dominates her life. I was the lucky one. I can't get those years back but, on the plus side, I have a very different outlook on life now. Your doctors name wasn't Smith from East Tilbury, by chance?
