  1. Ever so very much this ^^ They look like comic book whales to me.
  2. It is surprising the number of plants grown in our gardens that are pretty toxic. Our native Foxglove for one - controlled dosage has been used to treat heart problems for donkeys years but all parts could be toxic if you aren't careful - get a lungful of the dust-like seed and you could have a heart attack. Increasingly common in garden centres is Oleander which is seriously poisonous.
  3. Here's an odd one that is a bit like a cross between ZZ Top and Michael Jackson. Great song to just get into the groove or play around with. If anyone knows of a better quality recording let me know!
  4. Like this! Bit like John Lee Hooker meets the early Rolling Stones.
  5. Can only report back as I have found. I've used Eurosender 4 times for basses - twice within UK twice outside. Once for plants to Eire. Each time the quote was very reasonable - in the case of sending an expensive-ish bass outside the UK it was half the price of anyone else fully insured! DPD held up their end nicely and collected when they were supposed to.
  6. ACDC Girls Got Rhythm and ZZTop Tush, Arrested For Driving While Blind immediately spring to mind but there are plenty more.
  7. It would be amusing to arrange collection and turn up wearing cowboy boots and a stetson, just to see the look on his face.
  8. What bass is it?
  9. This build by @Basvarken In isolation the headstock is great but in the context of it being a Grabbird it is awesome!
  10. We have a winner. BBM. Here are my two - JV Squier and the Maruszczyk Jake 5 that I spec'd out to match.
  11. Here's one
  12. Relisted at £180. If you can live with the narrow string spacing this is just unbelievable value. Someone is clearly mining a new vein of old Peavey Foundations.
  13. Bit beaten up with funky chicken knobs but this must be one of the best vfm out there at the minute? Made in the USA, has the preferred Super Ferrite pups. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peavey-Foundation-1992-Bass-Guitar-Black-USED-CONDITION/264678935886?hash=item3da0180d4e:g:ZjkAAOSwyuFeezL9
  14. Is it you that makes the large print books, for the hard of reading?
  15. From the perspective of not being a fan, I guess there could well be several tracks of thiers that I do like but haven't heard because I have never st down and listened to all the stuff. I used to lift share to gigs with the drummer in my late covers band and often on the way home from gigs he felt it his duty to play me Beatles from time to time. Late last year he played me 'I Want You' from Abbey Road which, to my knowledge, I had never heard before. I actually like that a lot
  16. If it is a bass, I'd like to see some stats - weight, width of neck at the nut, spring spacing at the bridge.
  17. Could possibly be neck relief. In your shoes I'd take it for a proper set-up as it doesn't sound like you are very confident in tackling 'stuff'. Shouldn't be too expensive.
  18. Don't recall seeing one of these before. Kind of like it. Some stuff about them here http://www.epiphonewiki.org/index/EBM.php https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Epiphone-Bass-Guitar-with-case/333555091198?hash=item4da96ec6fe:g:zn4AAOSwO8xed6xW
  19. If it has a scratchplate with a conveniently positioned screw you could use a slightly longer than usual scratch plate screw through a thumb rest. Of course that only works in very limited circumstances
  20. If I downloaded all the Beatles back catalogue, then systematically deleted the tracks I didn't like a/ it would take me an awfully long time and b/ I would have exactly the same amount of free space on my phone as before I started Not much help but you have asked for opinions.
  21. We called legs like that 'wednesday legs' back in the day, don't know if expressions like that are still around. 'wednesday gonna snap?'
  22. It depends upon what sound you are after. I put one in my Frankenstein bass because it was cheap and I'd read good reviews. It sounded bloomin' luvverly - loud, edgy but perhaps not as organic as some of the trad tones you can get from some P pickups. Because the Frankenstein is so good, I then decided to change it for a Fender Custom Shop 62, because I perceived these to be the best P pickups (and one came up at a good price, of course ). Yup it sounded great but, for the job in hand, I miss the aggressiveness of the Entwistle and will be changing it back again soon. To me it sounds like the SD Quarterpounder but more so.
