  1. Apparently so. If you scroll back it seems 90% of the pics are the same 3 people. 😄
  2. That non-slip rubber grip mat stuff would do it. I had a similar problem with some of those very light D class heads, this solved it.
  3. That's The Way I like it. I still don't have any immediate means of recording
  4. I can see a 'get wood for your knob with Marcus' ™®© range being launched soon.
  5. Well, I collected it this morning. Managed to get it into the house by myself somehow without damaging my back or the house. Switched on - noisy fan, no biggie. Had a rudimentary fiddle with the knobs and got a really nice sound pretty quickly. Input gain on tube and solid state stages both on 3 o'clock and combined. EQ pretty much flat and engaged. Glad I left the 4x10 behind, can't see ever needing it as this baby is LOUD!! Master vol at No. 1 or 2 will probably do it £100 well spent, I'd say.
  6. Bought a pedal from Mark in the most straightforward of transactions. A pleasure doing business
  7. I always liked to think that I bore a strong resemblance to Burt Reynolds when I was younger, especially when he wore a beard. No-one else saw it, unfortunately, but I was told a number of times when I was in my 20s that I looked like Peter Sutcliffe. 😖 Doh!
  8. Thanks Pete, that is a kind offer. I'm picking up the combo, with or without the 410, on Sunday so we'll see how it works out But, yes, once it is all offloaded from my car into the barn we rehearse in (our drummer is a farmer and happens to have a couple of C12 barns on the estate ) that is exactly where it is all staying!
  9. Thanks Patrick. Moderate volume 😊 well we can still hear the drums 😊
  10. My quest for an old combo to keep at the rehearsal space is over, I think. I seem to have bought a Peavey T-Max 210 combo on eBay today rather cheaply. Says 350W as a stand alone unit - can I assume, from peeps who have owned one of these, that these are old school, Peavey Watts and I am unlikely to need another cab to wring out a few more watts? It'll go down to 2Ohm, apparently - and the guy does have a matching 4 x 10 (!) available, also cheap, but I am not sure I want to go down that road... Muchas Gracias
  11. Justification, were it needed, for my never setting foot in the place!
  12. I don't really understand the whole 'smuggling in a new bass/amp/whatever past the wife' thing either. We both know the state of our finances, neither of us a extravagant or have secret expensive habits. If I say to Mrs S I am thinking of buying a new bass/amp/expensive plant for the garden/whatever if she expresses an opinion at all she'll generally say 'If you want it, get it'. If I tell her I am thinking of selling a bass/amp/whatever - knowing of my bouts of sellers' remorse - she'll say 'why don't you just keep it?'
  13. Alex bought my mirror Mustang scratch plate in the most straightforward of transactions. Great comms, a pleasure doing business
  14. I was late into playing bass. Had my first paying gig at 51 and I'm soon about to crash headfirst into 62. For me being part of a band and making music feels like the piece of me that was missing all those years has finally fallen into place. So as a result of that I love every single aspect of it. I love practicing at home. I love getting new gear and tinkering with it. Even a new lead will make me smile I love it when the band decide on a new song to play and so I get to learn something new. Then, when we get to rehearse it the first time, when it all falls into place and we nail it. Absolutely love all this - to be a part of a group of people who, through just playing instruments, can create (or recreate) some powerful music from nothing is an amazing experience. But gigging... gigging is something special - that wave of appreciation you get back is a feeling like few others. To know that you have contributed to a whole bunch of people's enjoyment is absolutely brilliant.
  15. Indeed - still not found anything I have done so someone else please take the baton.
  16. I have no means of recording! Might be able to dig something out of the vault but would need a little bit of time. Best pass for now. Anyone else?
  17. I guess he is selling it to thin the herd.
  18. I had a Mono until Sunday. I suddenly noticed it had pulled through the leather and was about to completely break off at the upper bout end. And I only use lightweight basses! Neotech seems much better. Marooschick leather ones are nice
  19. Nothing constructive, I'm afraid. I don't remember the name east Island Crew at all. Then again I struggle to remember my own some mornings. The guy in Japan is called Danny Stewart aka The Bass Hunter - he got me my Holy Grail bass. (which when it arrived I didn't get on with, typical!)
  20. Great gig, Warren. The sound wasn't very clear but the performance was spot on! Adam impresses me more each time I hear him!
  21. Going to see Zal Cleminsons' Sin Dogs at the 100 Club on Friday.
