  1. I had one of these - absolutely adored it. Something about the proportions of the body that looks so very right to me. Fabulous precision bass but a completely different shape and a great build quality, too. Neck is absolutely to die for. But the weight!
  2. In this particular case that wasn't the case. It was the Join My Band website messaging system. You can see when a message has been read, it stays on the message system as well.
  3. I noticed on one of his videos there was an adverse comment from someone (no, really, there was) and MDP accused him of being one of 'those Basschat boys'. 😂 We've been rumbled! I believe he ought to make custom Sitar builds, Because every time he plays one of his conversions it sounds like one.
  4. Probably worth it, I'd say. I had one for a while, a cut above most Squiers. Better than the vintage Fender Musicmaster I had, too in terms of comfort, tone and playability.
  5. Mine? Just a pathetic attempt at humour, mis-spelt I now notice.
  6. I think that's a bit harsh - the mods do as good as job as they can under the circumstances...
  7. If they were interested they would follow up. if they haven't followed up they either have found someone or are Richards but, either way, to me it speaks volumes about how they would be as a band member. I had a similar thing - responded to a 'bass player wanted for blues/rock band' advert - filled in a lot of personal detail, put in links to various decent quality live clips I was able to dig out (they were even of me, too!). Didn't hear a dicky bird back. Not even to say 'sorry, you are not who we are looking for/clearly delusional/we have already found someone' or whatever. Just count it as a lucky escape.
  8. Never heard it phrased like that before, but it is certainly more relevant for bass players than 'wearing left or right' 😂
  9. If someone had posted just the music and said this was a lost Alice in Chains recording I don't think many people would query it.
  10. Just had a listen to the rest. Very good indeed. Bass isn't quite so penetrating in the others - did you change much for those? I like the singer's approach - he sounds like the bastard child of Ozzy and Blackie Lawless I've only seen one Sabbath tribute - Snowblind - but you totally smash them out of the park. I'd love to come long and see you but for the 4 hr each way journey. And then I carried on - double bass in a country band! Love it.
  11. Joe always looks like he is having such a great time, doesn't he.
  12. That's how I look upon it. I don't have many 'friends' - people with whom I would discuss any aspect of my life, turn to in times of need or be there if they needed someone. I guess other people look at their Facebook account and see that they have hundreds.
  13. Reminds me of a glove display cabinet in Field Bros Gentlemen's Outfitters. Sorry!
  14. It had never occurred to me before just now how camp that looks.
  15. Because one of the total number of the band is yourself. Interesting. For me it seems always to be a very dynamic and fluid situation. My little band 4111. Started off 4030, moved swiftly to 4300 until about 18 months ago but we weathered a storm and came out of it slightly differently to how we entered it. Bon Jovi band started maybe 5031 then swiftly moved to 5040 but I believe edging towards 5400. New blues trio - early days so 3020
  16. It is my pleasure to break Ash's radio silence. He bought my JV Precision in the most straightforward of transactions. He is a lovely fella Enjoy the bass, Ash - so glad it has gone to an appreciative new owner!
  17. Absolutely. Not point setting a precedent. 😁
  18. I'm sure if you ring the box office they can tell you.
  19. There was some talk a while back of using backing soda and superglue to fix a broken nut as the two together make an incredibly hard thing. Parsimonious fellow that I am, I used that tip and adapted it to glue together a pair of Mrs S's spectacles where the little thingumeebob that holds the arm into place had snapped, preventing the little screw from biting into anything. Worked a treat - albeit the arm is now fixed and not able to fold in. No point wasting £1 on another pair!
  20. No way. I wasn't allowed a bit of gentle bass laundering, so upgrading on that scale is certainly off limits.
