Indeed. I am a hard bitten, cynical ex-copper and at times had a lump in my throat as I watched these people recounting how their lives and the lives of their families had been manipulated and destroyed.

We always call him the 'Fab One' in my household. Not that we speak about him much. I've never enjoyed much of his output and I think he is a prize tool. Nevertheless his basslines weave through the songs so melodically and become such an integral part of them that it is hard not to respect the musicality. I would have said 'impossible' but clearly that isn't the case.

Band Banners - is there such a thing as? YES! 😁

Any chance you might be able to take a pic of the business end of things? I really like this idea. Saves the whole floor space footprint problems and always faces the front! -
I've not been able to hear that high for a decade or more so a SC is fine and dandy for me

That is very neat. What did you do to get that? -
I'd be interested to hear if there is anyone who HAS seen the new documentary and feels the allegations have been made up. A lot of people who haven't watched it are quick to dismiss it, it seems.

Seems that 'mojo' is to bass what 'heft' is to amps - it means different things to different people or indeed to the same person depending upon context. With reference to a bass I've always taken mojo to mean wear and tear picked up by a bass during its life. But when talking about Life in general it is some sort of vitality.

If it had a 50s style pickup I would be very interested....

Why do I like that?

I think I can see it from here, actually.

All things considered I think the lime green refin is the final indignity.

I do have a static pedal board, albeit very rudimentary, and so opted for the WL-50. Good bit of kit, replacing my Line 6 G50. Nowt wrong with the G50, worked brilliantly for a few years, never let me down except for when I didn't change the batteries... so the rechargeable transmitter battery is an elegant solution. The board end of things is much more compact than the Line 6, too.

Might make sleeping a bit awkward.

Personally I'd say flashing your willy to an audience is a rather different kettle of fish to persuading a 7 yr old boy to take it in his mouth. Some lines are easily drawn.

Mark bought my no-longer-needed tuner. Couldn't have been a more straightforward transaction. A pleasure doing business!

Yes. I stupidly sold it, wish I hadn't.

Yes, both of them gave evidence whilst still children to support him at his first trial and it was their testimony that got him off. The reasons why were fully explained and plausible - it was watching them - now adults with children of their own - and their families in this documentary that made my U turn in opinion.
-
I watched it. I started out with the opinion that Jackson was a weirdo and nothing worse - nothing had been proved in earlier court cases, after all. Having watched the programme I am in absolutely no doubt whatsoever that he was a manipulative paedophile who clinically groomed the families into allowing the children to stay with him, thereby putting him into a position here he could abuse those kids. The reasons why he got off in those earlier court appearances are fully explained in the documentary and the account given by the two -then boys now men - as to what they said and why is compelling believable. If you don't watch it you'll never be sure so I would commend anyone with an interest to watch it.

Indeed there seems to me to be little consistency - a few trends perhaps. From the basses I have owned I believe there were certain 'purple patches' that various production lines went through. Japanese JV and SQ were generally held to be very good - the ones passed through my hands certainly were. I had a JV Fender logo Precisin that was superb. A slightly later JV with a Squier logo that I actually preferred. I have had a couple of A serial no. MIJ ones and they were also very good - one (a 32" scale Precision) was probably the best Precision I have ever held/owned/played and I should never have parted with it. I had a later E serial number MIJ Jazz that wasn't very nice - really heavy and apparently made of MDF, but a couple of E series 32" scale Ps that were fab. Then a few years along the history line and I had a Silver Series P bass and, unlike Hobbayne, mine was brilliant. I had a Chinese 'Vista Series' Musicman and that was fantastic. Indonesian VM Mustang and that was also great - both superior, IMO, to the '78 fender Musicmaster I had.

You could probably get by with small bits of heat shrink tubing. A bit Blue Peter, though.
