  1. I use an old Trace SMX GP12 AH300, rack-mounted for lightness, with a Barefaced Supercompact. Works for me. They weigh about the same so makes for a balanced carry in.
  2. Well, I am still in. My Airturn Pedpro is paid for and arrived. Boss WL-50 fully paid up on pre-order, arriving the end of Jan. I do not want any new basses or amps.
  3. Starting at £40. These are damned fine basses! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Aria-Pro-II-Rare-Laser-Electric-Heritage-Bass-Guitar-5050506-No-Case-8561/392195305058?hash=item5b50a96e62:g:RdgAAOSw3fxcF2gI:rk:35:pf:0
  4. I don't know - it wouldn't play. I did something wrong now its gone to lu-thi-aye-aye-aye-aye Yesterday. This assumes the French pronunciation to rhyme, of course.
  5. I'd say basses are absolutely fine. If you have a decent back get a Trace Elliot combo for £200 +/- and spend a further £50 getting it serviced so all the buttons/knobs work properly. Invest the change in some good quality leads and a set of molded ear plugs. I don't believe effects will take you anywhere other than the top of a very slippery slope
  6. No, this year has been good. Last year's bad buys are another matter........ 😂
  7. My best purchase was unquestionably my custom spec Maruszczyk Jake 5. 8lbs of growly, 5 string, Precision bass goodness. No worst buy, either.
  8. Appearing tonight 'absolutely nothing to do with Monday' I like it. Catchy.
  9. Now £10 posted - nice little stocking filler. Sick of seeing this on my desk!
  10. To be fair I like a few of their songs - have played a couple - but soon tire of them for that reason. Seems to me the main difference is the speed at which the galloping horse moves
  11. At a gig last week a poster at the pub was advertising future bands including one called 'topless barmaids'. I can imagine a lot of disappointed punters.
  12. I've not seen Uriah Heep since 1973. Are any of them still alive? I don't think the bass player made it much beyond that. Saw VHB a couple of years ago, thought they were excellent.
  13. There - fixed dum diddle um diddle um diddle um diddle um diddle um diddle um diddle um.
  14. Aha. I missed the word drive. Has a tube but not particularly driven. Pardon me.
  15. Trace Elliot? I have one that has been rack mounted.
  16. Well, one of these would do it but it is a bit sledge hammer/nut - there must simpler, cheaper options that don't have to be quite so durable. Any blue tooth mouse for presentations I guess would work?
  17. I accept anything, Marc. Green Shield Stamps, S&H Pink Stamps, luncheon vouchers, ration coupons (ok, maybe not that old)...
  18. I have no interest in buying this bass but would just like to say that Marc is an absolutely top bloke to deal with. (my usual fees, Marc - cheque, PayPal or bank transfer. Your choice)
  19. Health and happiness for me and mine. Beyond that, for me, to find an old chapel out of the way somewhere and convert it into a music venue/studio. Landscape the gardens as some sort of gothic nightmare vision. For Mrs S, to start a bat rescue sanctuary locally. She loves bats maybe even as an annexe of the old chapel studio! Kill two bats with one stone.
