  1. A BF Supercompact sounds like the two together and is, for me, the best one cab solution out there. Except I got another one
  2. I used to play this with a former band and that isolated track is pretty much it. Ii think I added a couple of extra notes in the little twiddly bit at 5:30 or so in but everything else was how I did it. Except I play with a pick, so the feel is a bit different.
  3. There's something not quite right about that headstock decal but I can't put my finger on it. Where is Mr Prowla when we need him!?
  4. Bought a Hipshot tuner from Nick in the most straightofrward of transactions. Great comms, immediately dispatched, most pleased. A pleasure doing business! Paul
  5. Looks like this will do the job? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CCTV-12V-0-5A-500mA-AC-DC-Adaptor-Power-Supply-5-5mm-x-2-1mm-UK-Plug-2M-Cable/401394476386?hash=item5d74f9a562:g:khkAAOSwyltZTPNz
  6. I really shouldn't be let loose on anything remotely electrical!
  7. Yes! Clearly written in the back of the unit where it plugs in... positive centre. Thank you again!
  8. Thank you. How do I know if it is positive to the tip/negative to the ring? The transmitter unit is just free-standing, not racked, but one of those inline jobbies looks more fit for purpose I have to say.
  9. I use a T Bone IEM 75 for my IEMs and find it good enough for my purposes. However I find myself becoming increasingly irritated by the supplied power supply - rather than a UK plug it had a Euro plug plus adaptor, which is bulky and inconvenient. Also the lead itself isn't very long. The specs according to the handbook are 12V @300mA but i don't really understand what this means. Assuming I keep with those values are these things interchangeable so I can buy some sort of generic power supply? And can a short lead simply be extended? Muchas gracias Paul
  10. This is another one my little band plays - I see a trend - simple basslines that I can't f#ck up....
  11. I imagine the dodgy headstock logo put you off, too... I have one of these and discovered it was the first 5 string I could get on with - it has very narrow string spacing at the bridge and at the nut. Perfect back-up bass, takes up no room in the car or 'on stage' (leans against cab steadily on 2 legs). GLWYS!
  12. One of the best voices ever.
  13. A few years ago there was a short film following how this evolved in the studio that someone had uploaded onto YouTube but the full version seems to have vanished. Keef on bass, interestingly.
  14. Here are three that I play with my little band - great songs, real less is more stuff.
  15. In Norfolk it is probably pronounced Eff-on, given their unusual twist on the language there.
  16. If such an inconsequential thing as pop-ups annoys you to the point of driving you from the forum you must indeed lead a charmed life. Heaven forbid anything important happens to you!
  17. That is a good price. I am a big fan of mine... not just because it sounds so good, is extremely loud, and extremely easy to use. It is just so tiny that pre- and post- hernia op, plus slipped disc, it puts a smile on my face when I stick it in the boot. For sure my Mesa Boogie Prodigy Four:88 is on the bench for a while.
  18. Depends upon whether you live north of Watford or not.
  19. Westone Thunder 1A fretless is exceedingly good at any price point let alone £200+/- if you fancy unlined.
  20. There are a few Peaveys that spring to mind - cheap and cheerful Milestone aren't bad, Fury and Foundation petty damned good, especially the USA ones with the lined headstocks.
  21. What a great expression - duly nicked.
