A 'not so cheap' fix would be to retro fit a bridge with lateral movement adjustment. Hipshot 3D or similar.

I have owned a lined fretless and still own a unlined fretless. I am equally bad on both so in the end it comes down to the aesthetics and I prefer the look of an unlined board.

That is really cool. I have absolutely no need of any more 4 string basses, trying to downsize in fact, but feel sooo drawn to one of those.

Good for players with small hands.

If it were my dosh I'd get a Yamaha BB1024 or 1025 depending how many strings you want. I'm a bit in love with Yamaha BBs at the moment.

You may find a Yamaha BB425 to your liking. The P pickup on those is fantastic, but the neck is still really slim. BB425 is my universal panacea at the moment. Strong B on a passive? BB425. Value for money? BB425. Premature ejaculation? BB425.

Yup. Two years ago we did a hasty last minute gig at a place near us when the band that should have played cancelled. We brought a few people long, went down a storm, the landlord (who doesn't do the bookings) loved us and immediately after we had finished came round with the cash, plus a bit more, and got the lady who books to give us another date later in the year. Last year we got asked back for 3 gigs. This year, despite texts, emails and phone calls - nada. Strange.

I saw them back then in '77. I was at college in London and they played a gig at the LSE. Strummer walked on a said something like 'all students are pigs' and spat into the audience. It all went rather wrong after that. Retrospectively I like what they did and a lot of punk but, at the time, I was firmly in the 'they can't even play their instruments' camp.
