1. I got this earlier in the year but it isn't my thing. Used it for a couple of rehearsals and one gig. Excellent condition, everything works. It now has a Roqsolid cover in black. Anything you might want to know about its specs can be found here : http://www.markbass....etail.php?id=41 There is a lot been said about these on the forum, a lot of love for them. Just not by me £450 collected from SS7 in SE Essex. Can meet half way or possibly deliver if not too far but I'd rather not post at this stage. Ta! 2. The 'Fender Original' that they list has sometimes been called the '62 Re-issue' model. They are the vintage tone P pups I have always bought. BAX have them at £61 https://www.bax-shop.co.uk/bass-pickups/fender-precision-bass-original-vintage-design-pickups
3. Yes, I had one of those. Lovely thing. Also the B2 series, which are similar to these but of course headless and bodiless. I currently have a B2V and a B2B, previously had a couple of B2As. I'd say the B2B is the best of the bunch - passive with P/J pickups.
4. Dunc - I had similar thoughts to you. I've tried several of the 'lightweight but loud combos' and not liked any of them particularly. Markbass, Fender Rumble etc. Either not light enough, not loud enough or I don't like the tone. I have pretty much abandoned the idea of getting one, despite how convenient it would be. I read the thread about these new Quilter Bass Block 800 heads and decided to take the plunge. Early days but I am very much taken with it. Really tiny - small enough to carry along with something else and not notice it. Under 2kg and extremely small. Great tone, very loud and seem to match nicely with Barefaced cabs - at least the two I have tried. It means my rehearsal carry is now more than 10kg lighter and more streamlined, which was my thwarted aim when looking for a combo. I can use the BF 110 with my quieter band, Supercompact with the rock band. Small gigs, too I would imagine, if I can bear to divorce myself from my beloved Trace Elliot head. I used it at last night's gig with my rock band at pub gig volume, intending to just try it but ended up with it all night.
5. I used this last night at pub gig volume. Gain set at 8 o'clock to give a bit of break up. I was into the PA so had master set at around halfway and that was plenty loud into into the Supercompact. Didn't get enough time before we kicked off to dial in the 'exact' sound I wanted but got close enough in just a couple of mins fiddling - the eq is simple but effective. Overall a very nice bit of kit and I think perfect for what I need.
6. It is my pleasure to start off a feedback thread for Duppy03 - aka Matt - to whom I sold a bass. Nice friendly guy, good comms, a pleasure doing business.
7.
A Yamaha BB 415 or 425. In black. I'd like to A/B it with the Peavey Foundation 5er I currently have as a back up bass and have a feeling I would prefer it. Nothing stopping me buying one, I suppose!
Just had a quick search and found a BB425 in black for sale - new incl. delivery - for £315 here: http://www.musik-produktiv.co.uk/yamaha-bb425-bl.html It would have been impolite not to, frankly.

9. Well, if it doesn't I can always use it as a key fob
10. Indeed it has arrived as promised and in one piece. One very, very small piece. Plugged into Barefaced 110 at home and - yum yum! - it is everything you said. I have a gig Friday night so will use it then with my BF Supercompact.
11. And another - Washburn Scavenger, 3 days to go no bids, starting at £150. Pickup only Holloway Road, London. 12. Yes, it was the Sterling Andy and - yes, wow, it does sound great! That was the P pickup, just rolled back a touch. Gigged with it twice since picking it up last week and I really couldn't be happier.
13. A camera video of 'Bed of Roses' from my new band 'Just Jovi's first gig the other night. Sound is a bit harsh but you get the idea! https://www.facebook.com/739111803/videos/10154730018291804/
14. Does it for me - here's mine! 8lbs of JV Although now sporting a Schaller 3D bridge.
15. I always liked Bing, myself. That laid back, cheek puffing style of his was a winner.
16. Small numbers of punters doesn't necessarily mean a bad gig. One of my bands routinely plays a microscopic venue (The Miley, in Rochford, if anyone local to Southend knows it). The place is rammed if more than 20 people turn up, but the owners love putting on music and have invested heavily into it. I reckon 20% of the floor space is the stage area and they have just built a decent sized outdoor stage for summer. The punters go there expecting there to be bands and are always hugely appreciative. Pay is no less than anywhere else we play.
17. Yes, £620 incl. delivery. My end of the deal was quite easy - hopefully it will turn up as promised and in one piece!
18.
Congratulations . I don't feel so lonely on here now.
Similar thing for me - my aim is to use the amp with a Barefaced 110 for rehearsals with my quieter band and a Barefaced Supercompact with my louder band. Save lugging my Trace Elliot head around apart from gigs. Or, indeed, if it works out, I might use it for gigs. We'll see.
19. Just bought one. Seems to tick all my boxes - lightweight, tiny footprint, loud, great tone - for a back up to my main amp head and for rehearsals. Everything else in the class D amps I have tried so far has disappointed one way or another. Look forward to it arriving this week!
20. Thanks for the tip! Still smiling
21. Just to top this off - I picked up the bass on Wednesday and it looks amazing - just like it had come out of the factory. Cosmetically perfect. Used it a last night's gig and the sound has blown me away! The Aguilar P pickup is also perfect - mellow and old school exactly as I had hoped. Interestingly (or maybe not? I don't know enough) the MM pickup has been tamed by making it passive - nowhere near as aggressive as it is with the preamp driving it along and thus, for me, more useable. The blend will get some welly, too - it adds a bit of bite to the P in a very interesting and useable way. Different to a PJ, as you would expect. I really couldn't be happier.
22. Small job by Andy's standards but one he embraced wholeheartedly - he added an Aguilar P pickup into my Musicman Sterling 5 string, doing the necessary routing, making a pickguard from scratch to accommodate it and replaced all the wiring to make it passive. Cosmetically the job is perfect - looks like it was out of the factory like it. Sounds fantastic, too. Not to mention a 2 hr each way drive for the meet up. And he is such a gentleman to deal with!
23. My regular band Illegal Tender are at The Miley in Rochford on Friday 18th. Brand new first gig for fresh out of the box tribute band 'Just Jovi' on Saturday 19th at Mill Hall, Rayleigh.
