1. If it were mine... I'd get a new wiring loom from our very own KiOgon, the pickup you have your eye on or (my favourite for vintage tone) a Fender Original, Wilkinson tuners and a Gotoh 201 bridge, which I find more comfortable than a BBOT.
2. Once. But once is enough to teach me it can happen!
3.
I think you mean; "It literally takes me 3 minutes to replace it" Blue
Indeed! Takes me quite a bit longer. It would take me longet than 3 mins to find the spare string! Compare and contrast- to unplug the non-functioning bass, take it off, put it down, put on the spare sat on the stage next to me, plug it in - takes around 1 minute. But then I am the sort of chap who has the 'platinum' household insurance policy, I get to airports 3 hrs before my flight is due to take off, I always allow extra driving time whenever I go anywhere etc etc.
4. I broke a string at a rehearsal once and, ever since, have taken a back up to a gig - tuned and ready to go. Usually my Hohner B2B - takes up very little space on stage or in the car.
5. I can only speak from personal experience. I have 2 x JV Squier Precisions - one with a Fender logo, one a bit later with Squier logo - and an A serial number 32" scale Squier Precision. The reason I still own them, and not lots of Fenders, is that they are the three best Precisions I have played - and that is quite a few. If the Fenders I had tried had been better, I would have kept those and sold on the Squiers. It may be just the roll of the dice, of course - maybe I have been very unlucky in the Fenders I have tried or maybe I am lucky that these MIJ Squiers have been so good, but that is an unknown factor.
6. I assume so - I don't have one to hand to compare but it would seem rather silly if it wasn't.
7. It is my pleasure to start a feedback thread for Joe, who bought my Musicmaster Vista Series Musicmaster. The simplest of transactions, great comms throughout, friendly chap, instant payment. Deal with confidence - it has been a pleasure!
8. 'Kawai Teisco Satellite',60s, through neck. Looks interesting, though not for me. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BASS-GUITAR-/232047205716?hash=item3607175d54:g:bRYAAOSwMtxXrsj8
9. Hobbyist. This year I will probably end up doing around 20 paid gigs but that only breaks even with the cost of rehearsals and petrol money. However I can't think of many hobbies where you enjoy yourself so much and break even at the end of the year so consider myself very lucky!
10. Well, that's no good - you don't look anything like Bill Wyman.
11. This will put a smile on someone's face - especially at that price!
12. Cheap as chips, too. Are you sure I can't tempt you, sir?.....
13.
Useless piece of trivia - Herbie Flowers wrote "Grandad" by Clive Dunn which made No1 (courtesy of "Pointless)
This has dredged up a memory from when this came out. In my class at school, at least, it was obligatory to sing this as: Grandad, grandad, you're a w@nker (then with the appropriate hand gesture) That's what we all think of you. In my defense I'd say I was only 14. However, it still makes me grin
14. Richard just bought my Westone Thunder Jet - he popped round, we put the world to rights etc. Lovely fella to do business with!
