1. Thank you. That is very light for a Jazz. I will need to think about this as I am supposed to be downsizing, not getting more.
2. I have this if it is of any use. http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry2777497 I think it will fit a 410 deep amp.
3. Bought a 2U shallow rack case from Derrick in the easiest of transactions. Good comms, friendly chap, good price, quickly dispatched - I wouldn't hesitate to deal with him again.
4. I was looking at a Fender Modern Player Jaguar on eBay today. £350 bin, didn't sound much to me for a Fender until I Googled them and found you can buy them for less brand new. I just laughed. I wouldn't let it get you down, it isn't really your job to police the secondhand marketplace. And if it so happens you want one of whatever they are offering but it isn't rare, one will come along at the right price soon enough. They always do.
5. The necks on these ares quite wide as Jazz basses go at, as I recall, 40mm, so nearly Precision width. And the pickups quite dark and deep... if I weren't in the process of downsizing I would almost certainly be somewhere near Clackett Lane services by now.
6. Someone should nab this - these are very nice and this looks like a belter - collection only in Hook, however. 7. Thanks Karl! Just a quick mention - £300 is, I believe a very realistic price and I will sticking with it for the foreseeable. Ta!
8. That is cheap. Come in handy for opening beer bottles, too.
9. Not sure I understand that but nevermind
10. I am not surprised - it was lovely. I hope the bullet wound in your instep heals quickly
11. Indeed, horses for courses. I used to have a big old Trace Elliot rig and loved it to bits - unfortunately my dodgy back went from 'acute' to 'chronic' and I had to sell up and get lighter gear. Cabs were never a problem courtesy of Barefaced. I have tried various small heads over the past few years - TC Electronic RH750, Classic 450, GenzBenz Streamliner 600, MarkBass Little Mark Tube 800. They are all nice in their own way but always seemed to lack 'something'. I recently acquired a version of the Trace Elliot GP 12 head and, for me, it kicks all those others into touch. Getting the tone I like is simple - push in the 'Trace Elliot Pre-shape' button and that's me done. At 12kg it isn't too heavy for my fragile back. It louder than any of the aforementioned heads, too. Some people hate them, some people love them - I love them. It feels like I have come back home after a spell out in the cold, put on a pair of comfy slippers and sat by the fire.
12. Despite the bite taken out of it arse I imagine there must be a bit more wood in the body so maybe it doesn't neck dive. For the right band that would be quite interesting. I'd play it!
13. and another - still here... £400 is a crazy low price but i would like to see it gone.
