1. Just bought one of these on eBay by way of upgrading my semi-acoustic bass. I've never seen or played one before but it seems to tick a lot of boxes. 6.5lbs? It will be a while before I get it - meanwhile I wondered if anyone has had one and what I can expect? Pic nicked of t'net - mine is black but fretted, not fretless.
2. Ta. Light by Trace Elliot combo standards but still a bit too heavy for me, I think.
3. Bump for a price drop to £300 collected or £325 posted! I'd consider a Trace Elliot head of some sort, 250W+, as PX, as well as the above swaps
4. I was in a short-lived female/male fronted band. Of the simpler bass tracks, we did, as already suggested, 'Walking on Sunshine', which I loathed yet it unfailingly went down a storm. Also Kim Wilde's 'Kids I America', Joan Jett's 'I love Rock n roll', Pat Benatar's 'Hit Me With Your Best Shot'. Also simple but very bass dominant in the track was 'Black Velvet' which I enjoyed playing.
5. Sold a bass to Paul. Top man. Good comms, friendly guy, I'd have no hesitation dealing with him again.
6. PMd re dimensions.
7. Probably best to just count your blessings if the weight of a bass isn't important, because once it matters everything else in Life becomes a lot less straightforward, too. One very silly example is that I am no longer able to cut my own toenails without risking my back going so have to have a chiropodist round every 6 weeks. There are 'slip-on shoes' days when tying laces is completely off the agenda. Et cetera ad nauseam
8. If it were mine I'd be sending a PM to Andyjr1515 of this parish who excels at this type of thing.
9. Please remove, drunken duplicate post.
10. They sentenced me to 20 years of boredom for trying to change the system from within 'First we take Manhattan' Leonard Cohen.

12. I have had both, they sound exactly the same. The RH has more toys in that it sports the onboard tuner and has 3 programmable eq presets - those features being foot-switchable. I've said it before and say it again - this is a bargain!
13. I would possibly trade this for a Precision or Mustang bass of some sort, if that helps anybody? Or an Orange Terror 500?
14.
...but I do think IMO that there are much superior basses around for much less.
You'll be opening one up on Wednesday, Paul, hopefully...

Feedback for Aero71
Look forward to the next time!
Which didn't take long again. I bought a hipshot detuner from Marinus is a perfect transaction. Top chap. What next?
16. It is all entirely subjective. Like everyone else, I guess, I have a sound in my head of what I want my bass to be like. And that sound happens to be the sound of a Precision. I've tried so many other basses - I have 5 pages of feedback - some of which I find more aesthetically pleasing than a Precison - only to find myself disappointed that they don't sound like Precisions. So rather than change other basses so that they sound like Precisions I now think why not just stick with Precisions. This very simple epifany came to me only quite recently but I actually find it quite liberating!
17. I have an LP 'Remember The Future' that still bears listening to. A memorable guitar solo in a Pink Floyd-ish passage around 30 mins in.
18. Thanks. It was I put this in another thread:
...first outing for my new rig - Trace Elliot head RAH300-12 SMX into 2 x BF Supercompacts. Bass was my Squier Katana, which is the first time I have gigged with that. Rig was phenomenal. Best sound I have ever had, period. Real authority and presence, like when I used to have my much loved and missed old Trace Elliot rig, but with greater clarity and punch from the Supercompacts. A bass player who was watching right at the back of the room said as soon as I started playing it hit him straight in the gut, which is good! Katana bass was fantastic, a marvelous woody precision tone that could be dull and thuddy or sharp and edgy and maybe a touch more bite than some of my other Ps. In the context of the band it was the perfect sound I was looking for. Looked the mutts, too.
19. lousy pic, but evidence nevertheless
20. First outing for my new rock covers band 'Wayward Sons' last night. Also first outing for my new rig - Trace Elliot head RAH300-12 SMX into 2 x BF Supercompacts. Bass was my Squier Katana, which is the first time I have gigged with that. Band played well, considering we were under-rehearsed. A bit too loud, I think. We went down extremely well to a lively and friendly crowd of largely invited F&F - a kind of 'let's test the water with people we know' type of gig. I totally enjoyed myself. Excited about the future with this band. Pics didn't come out, sadly. Happy last night. Happy this morning. Edit, I suppose this one isn't too bad.
21. Thanks! Gig went very well. Pictures I took didn't come out.
22. Ta! Right, off to get made up....
23. I am allowing myself to get excited about this one - first outing for my new rock covers band 'Wayward Sons'. The Ship, New Road, Leigh-on-Sea. 9ish. Free entry. Also first outing for double BF Supercompacts. Might be loud. Should be fun. If you are local come along and heckle.
