1. I have bought and sold a lot on here. My feedback was a hot topic a while back. Sad, eh? I have only had two minor irritations during transactions, both as a buyer. I always pay immediately, never mess about. One seller made up some cock and bull story about the post office holding on to the package for a week before it sent it out (which was repeated to the next buyer, I noticed). Another seller kept radio silence for a week or so - I PMd about the whereabouts of the item and he said he had been too busy to get in touch - some people have such busy lives! However he had found the time to post a picture of himself in the 'post pictures of yourself' thread and also a video of his band in a similar thing. I guess different people have different priorities. But the overwhelming majority of dealings have been a pleasure.
2. Sold a pickup to Martin - nice easy transaction. Good comms, a pleasure doing business.
3. Jose bought a pickup from me - instant payment, great transaction. Pleasure doing business.
4. Bought a Jazz control plate + knobs from Nick - easy transaction, plate posted off really quickly. Cheers!!
5. One is just fine and dandy for me. That is a cracker!!
6. That is absolutely lovely. Do you want to trade it for something?
7. This has got me fired up - Martin Turner version are playing in 'Touchline' in Hullbridge on March 15th. Think I'll pop along there.
8. There is of course a website devoted to them: http://www.shergold.co.uk/ And a discussion forum: http://www.shergold.co.uk/forum/index.php More than you'll ever need to know on that forum. Includes a chap that used to make them! Basically hand made in England, nice quality machines.
9.
It's all this cash you spend on your holidays!

No, i replaced it with a BDDI a couple of years ago and leant it to someone on here. He didnt have a need for it but i told him to keep hold of it until we meet up, but that hasnt happened yet.. Hopefully he still has it.
Definitely sounds like a plan, then. And £26 towards my next trip! PM incoming...
10. I agree - if you like the tone a J-Retro pre-amp will expand upon what is already there. There is one for sale at the moment in the classifieds. Look at new pups if this doesn't do the job, but I think it probably will. I have had a couple of issues with a P-retro recently and I would like to say how helpful John has been. Top bloke.
11. Dave that is a very kind offer. Do you not use it? Could be a plan - try before I buy! I said I was a tightwad!
12. 'Tis my biggest indulgence. Especially in winter.
13. Probably the first thing I will buy when I get back from holiday
14. Interesting. All this and I haven't used one yet!
15. Daft theoretical question before I go on holiday. Could you daisy chain say, 3, of the Behringer BDI-21, each with a different setting? Which might kind of equate to the 3 stomp buttons on the Sansamp but still be half the price? And, if so, which would/could you Di from - if any?
16. I bought a Jazz Bass wiring harness from John. It didn't fit my control plate, so he drilled the holes larger for me free of charge!! Talk about going the extra mile! Buy with confidence, he is gent. Cheers John.
17. A 'going on holiday tomorrow for a week so can't answer the queue of Pms until I get back' type bump.
18.
BUT, I would like the result to still have the Fender logo and serial number on the back of the headstock and to be as "legit" as possible.
That wouldn't be a problem - you can have a waterslide transfer made up including all the original spec details then send it off to whoever refinishes the neck to stick on there before the final coats. I had one made when I refinished the headstock of a Fender Precision Lyte from red to natural.
19. Wishbone Ash! I saw them back in the 70s during the 'Live Dates' album era. Top band. Which version are you seeing - I think Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash are round my way - same for you? Phoenix is an absolute masterpiece imo. http://youtu.be/MVUx4zxd7VA
20.
There's a marathon on eBay with a BIN of £700 at the moment.
Plain daft. Wish I'd kept the Hayman now!! I have a Westone Pantera Deluxe bass X790 which, in 1987, was the flagship model for Westone and one of Matsumokus finest! Maybe that will increase in value nicely, I don't know - it isn't why I bought it. But a lot of the better Matsumoku stuff is slowly gaining momentum.
21. I don't know what the ceiling is going to be but Shergold/Hayman guitar/bass prices seem to be on the up over the last couple of years. I bought a Hayman 4040 bass about 5 years ago for around £200, sold it 3 years ago for much the same. Last one I saw on eBay went for over £500. Marathon basses seem to fetch around £350-£400.
22. And a bump! Fitted, played for 2 hrs, taken off. Get those vintage P-Bass tones for considerably less than buying a new one.
23. Probably good to add here that the holes are the smaller ones, not the 3/8" ones
24. If you find a source for a battery cover I'd love to know - my B-Bass is missing its one.
