  1. Just to clarify, pickups and bridges count or don't count?
  2. Sold a set of strings to Danny in the simplest of transactions! Cheers!!
  3. Back In The USSR, some 4 piece beat combo or other.
  4. Thanks Mick. About 1kg too heavy. I know your advice is well meant, and thank you for it. But there are many folks on here - me included - that simply can't wear a bass that heavy for very long and for various reasons. I am as fit as I can be with a prolapsed disc and a good wide strap can only go so far. Before anyone suggests it, I have a Duo strap and that does work to an extent but has limitations. If the weight of a bass is never a problem it is difficult to see or understand why it suddenly becomes one but the bottom line is that with certain medical conditions the only answer is to choose a lightweight bass. Once the world of back issues has been entered all manner of everyday things are suddenly no longer straightforward - cutting toenails, putting on socks, tying shoelaces etc etc Lightweight 5ers do exist, though. I have a Maruszyzck Jake 5 that weighs 8lbs, lovely thing, I sometimes wonder about replacing it to release some funds. But the balance of weight and quality is tricky. If an 8lb Yamaha BB425 comes along, I'll be making some decisions
  5. Jez bought some tuners from me in the simplest and easiest of transactions. Nice friendly chap, great comms. Top bloke!
  6. Sold Stew an AB/Y pedal. Has to be the simplest and most straightforward deal I have ever done here Thanks Stew, you're a gent and no mistaking.
  7. Should find out soon enough, Ben.
  8. Does anyone have one of these could give a quick overview? Mainly - how much do they weigh? I see on the specs they are basswood. Online reviews seem very positive - as far as it is possible to tell from those. Muchas gracias
  9. @gusbass what is funny, please?
  10. I've highlighted the bit. This what what they wrote in an email dated 12/1.
  11. Pedaltrain Mini. It is too big but I already had it I think a Pedaltrain nano would be a better fit.
  12. Ped, I booked Eurosender a week ago for DPD to ship Essex > Scotland but when the time came it was cancelled as DPD couldn't work with Eurosender due to their main office being in Luxemburg. I don't know how it would work UK > EU or reverse but certainly UK > UK was a no-go now.
  13. Yup. Loading my car is like a Rubik cube.
  14. Actually the point of the thread was stuff being sent UK > EU. ,not t'other way around. That has already been discussed ad infinitum.
  15. I'd never have worked it out. I don't know my @rse from my L-bow.
  16. Ahem...
  17. I didn't put that, perhaps it would have been an idea. I put a value just because, worst case scenario it gets lost or destroyed, I can claim on some insurance
  18. This morning I sent a couple of small packages to France. 1st class but not tracked or signed for. Filled out a small customs declaration, that was it at this end. Be interesting to see what happens at the other end.
  19. I had a Peavey BW 115 cab. It fell out of a plane, fell 20,000 ft onto a Mayan temple, tumbled head over heels several times down the steep steps, was run over by a tank, gored by a raging bull rhinoceros, fell off a cliff, landed on rocks at the bottom, fell into the sea AND it was delivered by Hermes. I just mopped it down, plugged in, and it was fine.
  20. Well, had a think, measured and remeasured then sent off for the Artec pups. I reckon they will fit with minimal fettling and be a completely reversible mod if necessary. We'll see if they are an improvement Also got a Hipshot Supertone 2 point bridge on its way whilst I am about it.
  21. £161! I reckon that is a bargain! Edit, not me, I hasten to add.
  22. Or worse, not doing something you should have.
  23. Just to add a counterweight to the depressingly huge numbers of bad stories. I had a bass booked with DPD via Eurosender to go from here in SE Essex to just outside Glasgow. Pickup was Monday 11th. No-one turned up. I sent an email to ask what was going on and got a reply from Eurosender at 11:58 to say they had just been told by DPD that they couldn't do the delivery because the main office for them was in Luxemburg, even though it was going to and from UK addresses. Another Brexit casualty. I then went onto Interparcel and booked TNT. I was surprised to see that, even though it was 13:02, I could still expect same day collection. At 14:02 the chap arrived. 10:02 next day the bass was delivered. Astonishing!
