I'm wondering what hard cases folks are using for this shape of bass. I know there is a specific Epiphone fitted case that will take both long and short scale SG types, but curious what else people are using. Especially if they are cheaper than the Epiphone one, which you can get for around £80. Trying to find something that is fitted, preferably, and reasonably snug on the body. For example, it looks like a semi-hollow guitar case for a 335 or similar would fit - in length for sure, maybe a bit of surplus around the body. But a Les Paul fitted case doesn't (yet it fits the LP Junior DC RI like a glove. Weird) What does anyone use?

I am fiercely loyal as a customer. If I get a good deal and service from someone I will absolutely use them next time. Unless someone else is cheaper. One thing G4M does is a loyalty discount, which sometimes works out well. At one point I had a platinum discount available to me and it coincided with my wanting to buy one of those 'horrific' Gibson LP Jnr DC RI and saved me a decent wodge of cash.

Who makes raw bass cabinets to order?

That's probably where I've been going wrong in the past. I've always used my hands. ☺️ That said, any woodwork project of mine always turns out like I made it with my feet. -
What's the best way of rehearsing remotely / online?
Paul S replied to Teebs's topic in General Discussion
Glad you were there to bail me out! Did you manage to achieve anything in the end? I spent about an hour deleting/adding, rebooting, uninstalling/reinstalling to no avail. Talk about frustrating. At one point early on I joined the session ok and my mic was working but not the bass! Then after about a minute it all crashed again. Just going to try again from scratch today - uninstall the app, uninstall the Behringer driver then build it again. But, as you say Warren, is it actually worth paying out? Especially if it is unreliable. I can get plenty of IT frustration for nothing when other stuff goes wrong The rest of the guys are all in multiple bands that all use it and so for them it would be very cost effective, whereas for me it is just for this band. By the time we get gigs in the diary we will most likely be able to rehearse properly. Then again I don't want to feel left out which is a pretty big reason for getting it. I don't know, really. -

Kind of beefy in a twangy kind of way. Hope that helps. Not really Fendery but still old school somehow - more J than P but without the burpiness. Hard to describe. This guy uses one a lot and captures the tone, with a little more processing than I use.

I'm still hopelessly in love with the one I bought recently. Be interesting to see what this one fetches.

Well, she flatly refused to get her hands on my Dano - one reason I'm selling it.

Nope. Flu deaths are around 1/4 to 1/2 of Covid, depending upon whose figures to look at. And that is without the measures that have been taken with Covid taken into consideration.

Look. Just stop it. Stop it now. You're giving me GAS something rotten. 😁

Play for free, it's good exposure...BBC content
Paul S replied to yorks5stringer's topic in General Discussion
My blues band played for the BBC for nothing but 'lunch and exposure' and it actually did us the world of good At the start of 2019 we were a brand new band, had our first rehearsal in January. Our first gig in March, I think. Our guitarist sent one of our rehearsal recordings to a guy from BBC Radio Suffolk, Stephen Foster, and invited him to come along to our second gig. To my amazement he did. To my further amazement, he really liked us and invited us to play at the Ipswich Maritime Festival that summer. No money but food, big BBC stage right on the quayside. What that gave us was a chance to perform on a big stage with a huge sound system in front of lots of people. The guitarist's son recorded some of it on his iPad and that ended up giving us the best live demo that a new band could have asked for. And it opened the door onto the blues festival scene in Suffolk this year, which is pretty lively (but of course everything was cancelled). Nevertheless we got many gigs on the back of the recordings nd will no doubt get many more once it gets going again. -
Lovely! Was that the Gumtree one? Buffed up nicely, in any case

If it were me and I was young with a strong back - or even old with a strong back - I'd get myself a Trace Elliot rig. Just like the one I had when I was younger with a strong back, in fact. I always preferred Trace Elliot to Ashdown, myself. I like green.
