  1. Mrs S was a fan, having seen them a couple of times in the 80s, so when they were billed to play at one of those 'Jazz nights' at Kew Gardens she was keen to go, must have been late 90s or early noughties. Safe to say they blew me away. Almost unbelievably it was hard to take your eyes off August Darnell, despite the best efforts of the Coconuts. He is one of those guys that just oozes charisma, always tipping his hat or striking a pose. Very, very entertaining live band.
  2. Huge bargain! I wish I didn't already have one so I could buy it! 😄
  3. Tom bought my Hohner B2B in the most straightforward of transactions. Great comms, nice friendly guy. A pleasure doing business! Cheers Paul
  4. Bought a mic stand bag from Chris in the most straightforward of transactions. Great price and speedily dispatched - a pleasure doing business.
  5. What would constitute a lightweight body for a bass, to then add a neck, electrics and hardware and come all in at, say, 3.6kg? Asking for a friend.....
  6. another thought. I know you are a Trace Elliot chap - I have one of these kicking about...
  7. Clearly Victor Wooten lacked one of the first two
  8. Pic of yours, please. it sounds lovely
  9. That's that, then. Barefaced has a lot of fans on here. 😁
  10. I always liked these two
  11. That is what I was going to suggest - leave it in for a while, though. I managed to deodorise a pair of my old slippers with good old bicarb.
  12. Bump to say, I can now post this. I have an entirely decent but scruffy hard case that will do the job nicely. So £25 will get this couriered to your door on mainland UK.
  13. D!ck Van Dyke 😁
  14. This was my ear worm this morning so I had to give it a listen. Great lyrics, always makes me smile.
  15. Phil Lynott?
  16. 'The Wizard' was one of the first things I learnt on the guitar, the album was one of the first 'proper' albums I bought, too. Always had a soft spot for that early Heep era. Only Micky Box left
  17. Different strokes for different folks - I love mine and find it extremely comfy to play.
  18. I have more than I need and most of what I want. One of the 70s/80s quality MIJ short scale EB-3 copies would be nice but my world will keep turning without one. The trouble is that GAS, like Zeros, comes at you from out of the sun and will strike without warning. I'll read of something on here then move Heaven and Earth to try and get it. I'm even worse with plants.
  19. Bump for a 10% drop to £225. That's your petrol covered, right there.
  20. I can think of plenty the other way around - whose work I prefer before they went commercial - but struggling with post commercial stuff. Possibly, because Thrash Metal isn't my thing, Metallica. I liked the black album and a few bits and bobs since then but not much before.
  21. Are these grippy or slippy, please?
