  1. Great to see this BB beauty on the marketplace again. Has the issue with the buzz (when touching the P pickup pole pieces under the E and A strings) been sorted? If yes, then I could get tempted 🙂
  2. Good to know. It shows that basses still sell quickly if they are priced correctly 😁
  3. Just saw this and it's such a shame that I cannot play 5 string basses, otherwise I would have "bought" it 😉
  4. Don't do that to me, just don't 😉
  5. Thanks! The BBP34 is still on my watchlist. Don't see any difference between the MKI and II apart from the two new finishes. The cheapest P34 (MK I) I could find online costs £1549. Pretty tempting. https://www.mannsmusic.co.uk/guitars/bass-guitars/yamaha-bbp34-midnight-blue-electric-bass-guitar.htm Although, I guess I could just get a 434 (in my fav metallic red colour!) and, if necessary, just change the pickups (I read that some found them a bit dull sounding). For my purposes, it is probably just fine. Do I really need to spend £1k more? Wait, I start questioning my bass buying habits? On BC? Blasphemy! 😉
  6. I recently bought a pedal from Kevin. Smooth transaction and great comms. Thumbs up 👍
  7. What, you don't know who Mikey Way is? THE Mikey Way? Really? Well, me neither 😉
  8. "New Era" of a few more options and some minor tweaks
  9. I guess everyone is just broke at the moment. Maybe Basschat.co.uk should be rebranded to Brokechat.co.uk 😉
  10. Surprised to see that no one has gone for this beauty yet. £1750? That's almost £1k less than what The Bass Gallery is currently asking for the same model on Reverb (£2720). Great bargain! GLWTS 👍
  11. I had the pleasure of owning the bass before Matt. I only sold it to finance a custom NS-2 in cherryburst (I have a bit of an addiction to red basses and wanted one that looks like Mike Inez's NS-2 ;- ) This Forte really is a great bass and very rare (only two were ever made in this dark Vintage Tint Ash finish). Further, as Spector does not offer the Forte model anymore, this really is your best chance of owning a US Spector without paying silly money. GLWTS 👍
  12. BB fans, I guess anyone who wants a BBP34 should quickly buy one as the new MK II (two existing finishes plus two new finishes - moonlight blue and vintage white. Not sure if there are any other differences between MKI and II) comes with a hefty price tag - £2.5k. I mean, really? The now "old" MKI can still be purchased for £1.6k/£1.5k. Crazy times 😞 https://www.andertons.co.uk/bass-dept/bass-guitars/yamaha-bbp34-mij-bass-guitar-in-midnight-blue
  13. I bought my first ever Spector back in 2016. It was the exact same model, which was probably made on the same day or week as yours (serial number: W160031). I sold it to free up funds for a Euro LX (Mike Starr). Then came Euro LTs, LE, another LX, Fortes and a NS-2. So, yes, buying a Spector puts you on course for many, many more 🙂 GLWTS 👍
  14. AIC, Queensryche, Pantera, Cameo and Living Colour, all in one video, featuring a white Euro 4 Classic (and a black Euro 5). Cool stuff. Check it out 😍
  15. I was also thinking of getting a BB434 but I am now leaning more towards getting a BBP34. When I was looking into the 434, the best price I found for a new new one was £549: https://www.rimmersmusic.co.uk/yamaha-bb434bl-electric-4-string-bass-guitar-black-p44523 It can be seen and heard in action here (no affiliation with the seller): By comparison, retailers such as GAK, PMT and GG want £633, £604 and £599 respectively, for the same finish!
  16. As I do not have any luck finding a BB1200s anywhere, does anyone want to part with a BBP34 in midnight blue (I think it would complement my BB1200)? If yes, then please let me know. Cheers.
  17. It's been on Reverb for 10 months, so, yes, a deal could probably be made, I guess. Just wonder why no one is buying it. Is it the age, the colour, the pickups, the price? It is definitely rare (only made in 85) and apparently based on a signature bass prototype for the one and only Louis Johnson. Unfortunately, the signature bass never happened. The prototype can be seen in action here (check from 20:55)
  18. Well, never mind, the bass has sold. Not on Andy Baxter's website anymore. So, has any of you bought it? If yes, thank you! 😁
  19. Thanks, by chunky I mean a more rounded profile. The Euros I mentioned (LT and Ras Layer) had such a neck profile. I like the more flatter/thinner/less round/slimmer (back to front) profiles like on my Fortes and NS-2 (thin neck specs). As it is difficult to describe neck shapes, I guess I have to take the train to Leeds and try it out myself. Won't happen before June/July, so let's see if it's still available then.
  20. Thanks, @PaulhauserI've sent Andy an email, asking him about the neck shape. Let's see what he says. In the past, I bought a Euro 4LT (with Fishman Fluence Pickups) and a Euro 4LX Ras Layer signature bass, both unseen, both had chunky necks and both are not with me anymore.
  21. Wow. Another stunning looking Stingray for a very fair price too 🤩 GLWTS 👍
  22. BTW, 1.5 years ago, the identical twin brother/sister of this bass (NB2637 instead of NB2636) was on sale here. Was already very tempted back then:
  23. Thanks. I did not check all photos. There are so many. Yes, 1st version of the TP by the look of it. Does anyone know about the neck profile (front to back) of a Euro from that time period? Chunky like most Euros (not for me) or slimmer (more like the Ian Hill)?
