"buying is the new selling" - I like that one more than my mantra. Maybe I should give it a try 😉 Yes, you are right, solid maple wings, even more tempted now. Does it have the TonePump? I cannot see the control cavity. Maybe it has the Aguilar OBP-1 that they used between 01 and 03. The first version of the Tonepump started in 03 but I don't now if there was a transition period (i.e., they switched to the TP sometime during 03). It is a bit heavy though (4.37kg), although I am only playing sitting down anyway. Man, I am tempted 😍

Spector fans, here is a very nice 2003 Spector Euro in Amber. Excellent condition and a good price too. Can someone please buy it before I break my "selling is the new buying" mantra? 😉 Here is the link (not my bass and no affiliation): https://www.andybaxterbass.com/collections/bass-guitars/products/2003-spector-euro-4-amber

BB Fans! I recently got a 78 Yamaha BB1200. Great bass. Now, I would like to add a BB1200s in red to it. Preferably in good and original condition. Anyone thinking of parting with one or where I can find one? I also put a post in the "wanted items" thread. Cheers!

No Spector and unfortunately no 20th anniversary EBMM Bongo either 😞

To cut a long story short (my song reference of the day ;- ), here is a link to a thread (20 pages!) showing "every bass" at NAMM 2023. Enjoy 😎 https://www.talkbass.com/threads/wintremute-s-namm-2023-every-bass-thread.1603651/

Dan bought my Fender P today. The whole transaction was super fast. Dan even drove over on a Sunday afternoon to test the bass and pay me immediately. Pretty much a perfect sales transaction. Thanks again, Dan. Cool stuff. Hope you will enjoy your new P 👍

C'mon guys, what happening? No interest in a cool MIA Fender with great upgrades? I have seen MIJ basses going for more. Maybe you are thinking "the price is too low, there must be something wrong" or "if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is too good to be true." Well, there is nothing wrong with the bass but maybe the price is indeed wrong. I have therefore decided to change it to £999. There you go, happy now? 😉

Would make sense as Rio was released in 82, so it makes sense to limit the Rio bass to 82 pieces. There is no 82 connection to the other finishes.

@Gramskirecently bought my Aftershock bass distortion pedal. The whole transaction was super smooth and I received payment literally within a minute. Very impressive👍 Thank you Graham. Hope you will enjoy your new pedal!

How is your Easter? Hope you are having a great time. In case you are still looking for a last minute Easter gift, my lovely Fender P is still available 🙂 The great Italian philosopher, Rocky Balboa, once said that "Ain't Nothin' Over 'Til It's Over" but in this case, my Easter sale will be over very soon, in 4 hours actually - 23:59. So, time's running out 😉

Candy Apple Purple? Sounds cool. I first thought you had made it up but guess what, there IS a bass in that colour - The 2020 Rickenbacker 4003 Candy Apple Purple Limited Edition and now I know who came up with the name 😉 "We are excited to introduce our new 2020 Rickenbacker Fab Gear Limited Edition Candy Apple Purple 4003 Model Bass. This is a Fab Gear exclusive, a limited edition run of only 30 numbered basses are being made for us. The stunning new Candy Apple Purple finish was inspired by the late 60’s Mopar muscle car color Plum Crazy Purple, a fabulous color Rickenbacker has never before issued, and is an exclusive for Andy Babiuk’s Fab Gear! We worked directly with our good friends at Rickenbacker, to design this super cool, limited-edition bass, and chose some ultra-cool specs like: checkerboard binding, vintage knobs, vintage nameplate, vintage toaster pickup in the neck, and more!" -

Also note that it says April 13 in the ad, which happens to be the first day of NAMM. So, we could be in for some more announcements in a week's time.

Thanks. Interesting video. However, Sheldon got some details wrong. Rio was Duran Duran’s second album, not their first (that was “Duran Duran”, released a year earlier in 1981). Second, John Taylor was not 17 when he recorded his basslines for Rio but 21 ½. Third, Queen Elizabeth II did not “have a Neve PA system” but Rupert Neve “provided public address for Princess (later Queen) Elizabeth II at the reopening of St Andrews church” (see Rupert Neve Designs website).
