Andy, God loves you, if you are a quitter or not. Now that you have seen the light, you may want to ask these bands if they need a great bass player like you, brother. Hallelujah 👼

I agree, I can see the business case for touring as Pantera. Well, let's see how many people want to see half-Pantera next year. I won't be one of them.
-
They should not have used the Pantera name. Like Ben & Jerry's or Tom & Jerry, they could have called themselves Rex & Phil or Phil & Rex playing Pantera songs. A bit like what Peter Hook is doing with "Peter Hook & the Light", "performing the 'Unknown Pleasures' & 'Closer' albums by Joy Division, w/ opening New Order set". Currently on tour: https://peterhookandthelight.live

Man, I really like the wood grain. Killer 😍 I think the black PG looks great too. I am still looking for my "Motown" bass and this beauty ticks lots of boxes (esp. the 62 pickup). Fortunately (for my bank account ;- ), it does not have the rosewood FB that I am looking for, so I should be safe from making an offer. Well, let's see 😉 GLWTS 👍

Have to agree, made me think of this clip 😎

one of the Bass Direct ones coming in 2023? They look tasty indeed, especially the ultra violet one. Definitely on my watch list 😍

I had the great pleasure of selling my Tech 21 SansAmp BI pedal to Geoff. Super smooth and easy transaction. Quick and friendly communication, together with fast payment. Cannot get any better. Thumbs up 👍

Probably nothing wrong with it but nothing special about it either (apart from the gold finish, which I am not a big fan of). The RB has some cool features and I hope to get to try one out some day. I hope the 60th anniversary model comes with some cool features (maybe a Tbird II model, maybe short scale, maybe active/passive pickup(s) like the RB?) and in white (appropriate colour for celebrating a 60th anniversary anyway). I just want to see something special and not just a different finish.

Here is the perfect bass for you (It is not my bass and I have no connections to the seller, just saw it) https://thebassgallery.com/collections/bass/products/yamaha-bbne2-nathan-east Yamaha BBNE2. I have never played one (I can hardly cope with 4 strings) but I have heard a lot of good things about it. Worth checking out and London is not too far from Northamptonshire, so maybe worth a trip to the capital? 🙂

Man, I am a huge Pantera fanboy but Pantera without Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul? Don't think so. Maybe they join as holographic virtual avatars, like the Abbatars in ABBA Voyage. As Rex and Phil are still with us, it could be a hybrid or semi-holographic tour. That could be interesting.

Let's see what Gibson releases for the 60th anniversary of the T'bird next year. Hope it is better than what they came up with for the 50th though 😞

Ups, just realised that I had posted in the wrong thread. Must have been the heat 😉 Thought this was the thread discussing the new Gibson Rex Brown signature Tbird bass. I am very sorry for accidentally hijacking this thread and yes, this vintage Gibson looks amazing. Congrats 👍

Well, it has gold hardware instead of the usual chrome or black, it has Hipshot tuners and bridge, instead of the often criticized 3 point bridge, it has newly developed active pickups that can be put into passive mode (via push/pull switch), it has a drop D tuner and a slimmer neck. What else would you have liked to see in a new T-bird?
-
So you have a belly chamfer on your back? Sounds awful. Sorry to hear that 😉

Well, no @ceteraneck shape then 😞 However, the Xs having the Ian Hill neck shape means that I am tempted now 🙂 Do the Xs have any body/arm contours or are they slab bodies (like e.g. the new Gibson Rex Brown sig Tbird shown below)?
-
BTW, exactly six years ago, I started my Spector journey with this model here. Bought it from Bass Gear in Twyford. Great memories 😀
-
Ok, so it is then the cetera neck shape. Sounds good to me 🙂
-
Interesting, so it is something totally new, an Ian Hill/Doug Wimbish neck shape mix. Did you come up with it? If yes, then they should call it the hiriam.k.hackenbacker neck shape 🙂
-
Sounds very tempting, esp. the gloss black or white finish (classic Spector colours) •Nut: 1.5” - Ian Hill shape neck Sounds confusing. The Ian Hill neck shape is my fav due to the neck being a bit less chunky (front to back) but the nut width is 1.64'', not 1.5''. 1.5'' is the Doug Wimbish neck shape.

What are you listening to right now?

Selling my T-Rex Bass Juice distortion pedal. Bought it many years ago but only used it from time-to-time at home (no gigging). The pedal comes with a “bomb-proof” aluminium housing and is in pristine condition. Ships with the original box and manual. Happy to ship within the UK for an additional £6 (decent courier). Here are some details about the pedal taken from the T-Rex website: “DISTORTION PEDAL FOR BASS PLAYERS! T-Rex Bass Juice offers organic distortion specially designed for bass. In normal mode (boost function off) it delivers awesome sustain with rich creamy overtones and big bottom. Engage the boost function and you are in fuzztone heaven! The mix knob let's you blend just the right amount of distortion with your original clear tone. Remember that Jamiroquai sound, where it sounds like the bass kicks the paper of the speakers. The Bass Juice can do that - and many other things. REDISCOVER THE JOYS OF ADDING JUICE TO YOUR SOUND - Organic distortion specially designed for bass - Awesome sustain with rich, creamy overtones and big bottom - Engage the boost function and you are in fuzztone heaven - Blend just the right amount of distortion with your original clear tone - Bomb-proof aluminium housing”
