  1. Good question. I bought one but will sell it soon, so I am back in, right?
  2. Are you sure you really need this strange bright one in the middle? It clearly does not go well with the other two. Happy to be of help and take it from you. As the great late Meat Loaf once sang "Two out of three ain't bad" πŸ˜‰
  3. Here we go again. Another one dissing St Anger. How many times do we have to read about how bad this album is, especially the horrible snare drum sound? How many times? Over and over again people criticise this album, telling us how bad it is. It has become such an easy target. However, if you sit down, relax and listen to it from start to finish, then you will hopefully realise that it is actually... really that bad πŸ˜‰
  4. Maybe I should try out the Pure Blues too. They look great on your bass, they are pure indeed as they really make the fretboard and the top shine more than any other set of strings could do πŸ˜‰
  5. Very nice. Welcome to the club πŸ™‚
  6. Here is The Warning in action
  7. That reminds me that Ale Villarreal, bassist in The Warning, will also get a Spector signature bass. It is supposed to resemble her custom bass (shown below, it is a 5 string but the signature one will be a 4 string). The first prototype had a gold finish. Thank God they decided to switch to something closer to her custom bass. The gold finish looks more like something EBMM would release πŸ˜‰
  8. Here is Layer in action. Seems like they are pretty popular
  9. Wow, yours looks great 🀩 I think mine is probably a cherry burst, not really sure as they tried to replicate Mike's bass based on the photo they had. Yours reminds me of Spector's signature bass for Raise of Suilen's (RAS) bass player Layer. RAS is a Japanese all girls rock band and her signature Euro LX bass looks killer but it is only available in Japan. Here's a photo:
  10. Well, first I don't have his number, second he seems to be very attached to his moon burst bass as he explains here in the video (first 2 minutes, he also mentions all the fluids his bass has come in contact with over the years ;- ), so I guess that won't happen πŸ™‚
  11. Good idea but I am not keen on spending even more dough and someone may love it like it is. As mentioned, maybe trying to replicate Mike's moon bass next πŸ˜‰
  12. Yes, the Hi-Beams. Maybe I'll try the Fat-Beams next!
  13. I say AIC live in Leeds in 2018 and in B'ham in 2019. I saw Mike's Spector and told to myself - I need to have that! Well, I kind of got it, just not like I wanted it to be. Anyway, time to move on. Today, I put some new strings on my black Forte - DR MR45s. I normally use D'Addario EXL 165 but I wanted to try something different. Well, I have to say that I like the DR's, like them a lot. They sound and feel great.
  14. screenshot from the Down in a Hole video I posted: Look how much darker the colours on his bass are than on mine 😞
  15. Mike regularly uses the red Spector that I posted earlier in this thread on songs in C#, for example Down in a Hole or Dam that River
  16. Thanks and yes it is redwood.
  17. I sold several last year (matte black Forte 4, black Euro LT Fishman and Euro 1977) and still have four at the moment. Out of these, 2 are staying (white Euro Mike Starr and gloss black Forte 4, my AIC and Queensryche tribute basses) and 2 are going (vintage tint ash Forte 4 and cherry burst NS-2).
  18. Not sure either but probably yes
  19. Are you ok? How come you are suddenly so generous? πŸ˜‰
  20. I was told that the colours are pretty close and that they will get darker over time. Well, could be the case, but I am not known for my patience πŸ˜€
  21. This looks great but you are still owning it, right? This thread is about basses you sold but you wish you hadn't. I guess you have to sell it immediately now 😜
  22. There has been a lot of talk about parties recently. Well, here is a nice party song. Cool bass tone.
  23. yes and they had the Mike Inez photo I posted here. It is a shame that they never sent me a photo, asking whether or not I am ok with the finish. I know that some luthiers do that but I've read on TB that Spector is not, or at least not always, doing that. Well, I am sure someone else will love it, not knowing the back story. So, if anyone is interested, then just drop me a PM πŸ™‚
