  1. Congrats, this looks great. 🀩 I have the long-scale version (also natural finish but black hardware), but your wood grain looks soooo much nicer. I am jealous πŸ˜‰ Enjoy πŸ‘
  2. Great colour combination. Love it. Enjoy πŸ‘
  3. Same here. Sold most of my basses via BD. Good thing is that I drop off the bass(es) and that's that. I do not need to take photos (I do not have a good camera and only an old smart phone. Feel free to call me a dinosaur like my wife does too πŸ˜‰) and BD takes excellent photos. I also do not have to write blabla to promote my bass and, most importantly, I do not have to deal with customer enquiries, including lowballers and scammers. Further, I do not have to worry about payment and shipping. So, with regard to the latter, no need to organise boxes, packing material, booking collection etc. Finally, I do not have to worry about the bass getting damaged in transit and buyers maybe wanting to return it. In sum, a lot of time-consuming hassle that I do not have to deal with and I am happy to pay BD 20% for it. YMMV.
  4. Not only can you record farts but also sell them and make lots of money ($100,000 apparently): https://www.vice.com/en/article/epxpbz/stephanie-matto-fart-jar-nfts
  5. Continuing with the blue theme, here's a song from a cool band that recently returned after a 10-year hiatus. Check it out!
  6. Cool stuff. Is this the one BD had listed in their pre-owned section?
  7. Today is the most depressing day of the year, apparently - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Monday_(date) Great occasion to re-watch NO's remarkable live performance of the best-selling 12'' single of all times. Enjoy πŸ™‚
  8. Looks like the video has been taken down. Guess we are not supposed to know yet that the Forte is no more.
  9. Over at TB, I just found out about the new process for ordering US custom basses. No more Fortes (!) and lots and lots of options. Here is a cool video that goes through the process in detail. Better start saving money πŸ™‚
  10. Spector fans! Just watched this video on Andertons channel, featuring the Euro LT with the Fishman fluence pickups. I used to own one of these. Great looks and sounds but the neck was a bit too chunky for my taste. They mention a lovely customer called Gary who is an endorsee and has a great Spector collection (see from 14:16), I think that can only be you, @cetera πŸ™‚
  11. No, which, BTW, is the ultimate Yes tribute band name. Ok, I better leave before you start throwing things at me 😁
  12. Man, this looks great. Metallic red with a black PG. My fav colour combination. Just a shame that it has way too many strings. I can hardly cope with 4 πŸ˜‰
  13. Funny thread. When I first clicked on it, I expected to read something about a Yes tribute act with a quirky name. Well, there's an idea for you πŸ˜‰
  14. Yeah, the Cutlass was not exactly cheap. The high price was probably one of the reasons why it only lasted for two years (2016-18). Further, for most people EBMM stands for active basses in general and the Stingray and, to a much, much lesser degree, the Sterling, Bongo and Sabre in particular. So a passive EBMM bass with a high price tag was a difficult sell from the get go. EBMM then even increased prices significantly around late 2017/early 2018, as far as I remember, and that was then probably the beginning of the end. Well, it may come back in the future, who knows. It plays better than any of my other basses and it sounds huge, so I am happy to have it back 😍
  15. If you are interested in a Bongo 6, then maybe check out EBMM's "The Vault". They have a John Myung sig bass in stock, costs: Cart Subtotal (1 item):Β£2317.63 GBP UPS Expedited:Β£131.65 GBP Duties and taxes:Β£576.69 GBP Order Total: Β£3025.97 GBP In general, I would bookmark the Vault and check it from time to time. I got my Timmy C sig from them and it worked very well. You pay online and don't have to worry about any additional costs. It says "Guaranteed Total Landed Cost! - No additional VAT or Duties will be applied to your order." Cool stuff.
  16. Well that should have solved this GAS attack for you then πŸ˜‰
  17. I have been eying this one as well. However, I then saw the back of the neck and how it compares with the necks of two of LTD's guitars in the same finish. Why didn't they do it for the bass too? Discrimination 😞
  18. Same here but Bernard's Stingray had a maple fingerboard. I have been trying to find one with the 2 band EQ for ages but cannot find one. There are some pre-EBMM and Stingray Classics available, but they have slab bodies which I do not really like. So, finding an EBMM SR 4 with a 2 EQ, natural finish and maple FB is really tricky. Well, I will keep on hunting πŸ™‚
  19. The Bongo is a cool bass. I tried one once (Andertons) and playing it sitting down was not a problem. I am still a bit tempted but I agree that Β£3k is way too much. However, there is a shop in Belgium that still has a 4 H (Blue Pearl) and a 4 HH (Stealth Black) for EUR 2.2K and EUR 2.3K respectively, so approx. Β£1.8k/Β£1.9k (these prices are pre-Belgian VAT deduction and UK VAT addition). The Belgian VAT is also slighter higher than here in the UK (21% vs. 20%), so that helps a bit too. Every little helps, right? πŸ˜‰ Last year, I bought a Fender Pro II P bass (Dark Night) from that shop and the transaction went smoothly. I am not sure if I can put the link here. Anyone interested can just PM me.
  20. Agree. The Cutlass is a killer bass. I used to have one, sold it but now have another one. Very happy with it. However, it is, of course, not a perfect bass πŸ˜‰
  21. Finding the perfect bass? That assumes that there is a perfect bass out there and that we could buy it. What do we do then? Buying no more basses? No more hunting and gathering? That is clearly against human nature. So, the idea of a perfect bass is a very, very dangerous idea we should immediately get out of our heads. It is almost heresy. So, to be on the safe side, repeat after me: THERE IS NO PERFECT BASS πŸ˜‰
  22. That is indeed a weird one. Who is behind Fat/Phat (that's how it is spelled on the control cavity cover) Bottom Guitars? Did you notice the Fender neck plate? Don't think they will be overly happy with it (unless Phat Bottom Guitars is owned by Fender?)
  23. There you go, YT is your friend πŸ™‚
