Wow, wow, wow. You have two killer basses on sale, @Bunion. Both are very tempting but I have to stay strong. I will, I am sure. Definitely. Maybe. π

Peter Hook auctioning off equipment/memorabilia
Eldon Tyrell replied to Belka's topic in General Discussion
Probably not all will go to charities. On the official website, it only says "Donations from the auction will be supporting The Christie charity and Epilepsy Society". www.omegaauctions.co.uk/news-media/news/the-peter-hook-signature-collection-2021/ -
BB Fans, just watched the "Peter Hook Signature Collection" mini documentary with Hooky. Made me think of you, especially this screenshot π

Peter Hook auctioning off equipment/memorabilia
Eldon Tyrell replied to Belka's topic in General Discussion
Interesting "behind the scenes" short documentary on YT: With The Peter Hook Signature Collection β New Order exhibition taking place this week at Omega Auctions before the auction this Friday 8th October, here with a behind the scenes mini documentary with Hooky interviewed by Paul Fairweather showcasing the event. -
Now I am curious. Of course I will check the marketplace even though I shouldn't. π Speaking of the BC marketplace, there is still a great Euro 4 with solid flame maple wings on offer there. Cannot understand why no one has bought it yet. For a NS-2, solid quilted maple wings (don't know about flame ones) cost $1,499.00 extra (and that was a few years ago, probably even more now). Anyway, I was really tempted by that Euro but just could not justify buying it (but it was close). I have a NS-2 on order and I am still on the hunt for a Stingray Classic (natural finish and maple fingerboard). Moreover, I have too many basses for a living room player anyway. Ok, hmm, well, let's see if I can resist your temptations, @Bunion π

Great suggestions but all very expected and therefore all very unpunk. Punk is against the establishment so if you want to be really punk, you don't play a P or any of the usual suspects. Play a cheap Hofner Beatles bass copy, or a Danelectro Longhorn or a Burns Bison bass or maybe the new Nordstrand Acinonyx. Or whatever someone does NOT affiliate with punk.

Difference between a Stingray Special and Classic
Eldon Tyrell replied to lancer's topic in Bass Guitars
You could get yourself the Timmy C sig model with the height adjustable finger ramp. -
Ok, this is not really Nirvana related (although it features one of the band members) but for the 100th reply, I thought, why not. After all, it's my thread and I can do whatever I want. Isn't that what punk was all about? Anyway, here you go, enjoy and feel free to re-enact it at your first/next wedding π

True but first I will ask my good friend Jim Adler to sue @NancyJohnson for stealing my post from yesterday π

Well, I really enjoy playing Sea of Sorrow and playing it loud, very loud. I think it is great but, as a diehard AIC fan, I am probably a bit biased π -
Poor Vince. He really needs to get in shape. Maybe he should talk to these guys π

Just saw this on the news. Must be a big Nirvana fan: "Enthusiast marks albumβs 30th anniversary with 150km ride around Adelaide using Strava to sketch naked baby Pete Stokes rode about 150km on a single-speed bike to sketch the outline of the famous Nevermind cover. His efforts, tracked by GPS-based site Strava, show the babyβs (slightly angry) face over the CBD and the banknote over the leafy eastern suburbs of Burnside and Kensington."

I recently watched the excellent (but sad) documentary "Cure for Pain: The Mark Sandman Story". Mark was known for his two-string slide bass but he actually started with a one-string bass. This made me think, what are cool songs that only use one string? Ok, I'll make a start with this one:
